Pondering the Orb
Honestly don't know if I'm ace or bi.
I’ve got news for you! Neither do I. It’s something I’ve been struggling with lately, and it’s also why I haven’t been so active with this blog. You’re not alone in this.
Sexuality can be awfully confusing at times! On the one hand, it’s fluid. Sexuality can change and dance about. It can flip back and forth. That’s one of the coolest things about it, but also one of the most baffling. At the same time, it can sometimes be very hard to understand your own feelings. I struggle with that all the time! And compulsive heterosexuality and ingrained homophobia can only make things worse.
If you’re not ready, don’t be afraid. You don’t need a set label; it’s totally OK to say that you really aren’t sure. And, if you’re more comfortable with picking one, it’s totally OK to say you’re ace - or bi - with the awareness that someday it might change.
Because it’s something I can’t figure out for myself, I’ll leave it to one of the other mods to give more specific advice! Just know that it’s alright to be unsure.

A happy Pride Month to all our followers!
A few days ago, LGTBQ Pride started. What a fantastic time to be ace! To everyone planning on joining the celebration, HAVE FUN! Go and show your true colours!
However, I know firsthand that it’s easy to feel left-out or guilty if you can’t join the celebration. You know what? THAT’S OK. You don’t have to attend festivals or march in parades to enjoy your identity. You’re just as LGBTQ at home as you are outside.
So, to followers who can’t celebrate due to physical or mental illness: you are good. you are valid.
To followers who can’t celebrate because of an oppressive or intolerant household: you are good. you are valid.
To followers who stay home for safety reasons: you are good. you are valid.
To followers who don’t feel connected to the community: you are good. you are valid.
To followers who do not feel welcomed by the community: you are good. you are valid.
To followers who just don’t have access to an active LGTBQ community to participate in: you are good. you are valid.
To followers who aren’t comfortable enough in their identity to embrace it in public: you are good. you are valid.
To followers who struggle with justifying their identity to their religion: you are good. you are valid.
To a-specs who can’t or won’t join the festivities for any reason: you are good. you are valid.
Love, Alma
Aces who experience romantic attraction are valid!
Aces who don’t experience romantic attraction are valid!
Aces who experience occasional or conditional romantic attraction are valid!
Aces who are questioning whether they experience romantic attraction are valid!
Aces who have a hard time distinguishing the difference between romantic and platonic attraction are valid!
Whatever your romantic orientation is, it’s just as important and valid as your sexual orientation, and just as worthy of love. (Platonic love. Or romantic love. Whichever you prefer.)
