you can apply for a leader upon opening, yes! currently riverclan and thunderclan leader are claimed, but skyclan and windclan are not! we may put a list of open high ranks on our opening application post; we've tried to keep most of them available for new folk c:
[edit, didn't see the 2nd half of that on mobile] in those applications we'll probably be looking for the basics like reading literacy and such, but as SoH should be loose enough plotwise to work with whatever characters we bring in, there really isn't any set type of character or archetype we're looking for in particular for leaders or really any other high rank!
