There was a war?
[Hey! Mod Booker here to explain this entire war thing rather than have one of the parents answer because its going to be a fairly lengthy reply! You see, when getting deeper into the “Evan is Fire Miser” AU, I needed a reason for there to have to be a ‘Safe Haven’ and ‘muting medication’ for people with powers. (These things will be explored later in the au trust me on this. I and mod Jared will dive deeper into them later)And after spending days developing the character of Dr. Sherman (literally, he actually started as a dad figure for Evan) I thought it would be an interesting concept to go with the idea of a war having happened when the adults were teens or in their twenties. This war was for people with powers, and without powers, to fight against others for the ability to use their powers freely without being mistreated. In the end however there were so many losses and near deaths to kids (Because most of them were teens and some adults) that they made a truce and came to an agreement that there was no point in fighting over something so pointless if it was going to always end in death. The medication to mute powers was still made, but in the end people with powers weren’t forced to take them like they would have been had there not been a truce. Each of Jared’s family members were part of this war, as well as Heidi Hansen.Joanne, Heidi, and Sherman all fought together in one area. While Joanne didn’t have powers she believes in equality for others and thus fought along side them. She worked mostly as a spy, and because she had no powers it was fairly easy for her to do so. Heidi is a healer, thus she worked at healing people best she could when they were injured. Sherman has invincibility with a twist. Hes able to pass on his own invincibility to others for a short amount of time, but in turn looses it for that time.Sherman took most injury, ending up being hit pretty badly in his arm while Heidi had is invincibility, he refused to let Heidi heal him because she was already low on energy as it was and there were others in far worse shape than he was. When Joanne came back to the group she took Sherman’s stupidly dangerous bindings and use them on his arm for the time being to slow the bleeding. Sherman’s arm has since been fucked over and he can’t fully feel with it like he use to because he never properly had it healed. Needless to say Sherman was very mad about the entire bindings being used as his arm bandage thing. We only ever really got time to really develop the entire situation for Heidi, Sherman and Joanne, but not really for Ashley and Keith. If you guys are interested in hearing more about it I’m totally open to talking about it more!!I hope this satisfies you for now, heres a fun comic to go with this]
