I first heard about Mod Con (Melbourne, Australia) because Erica Dunn's project Palm Springs is releasing a compilation on Poison City Records. I didn't know she was also a member of Mod Con and Tropical Fuck Storm.

Mod Con sounds like an amazing combination of Tropical Fuck Storm, Sleater-Kinney, and some great Swedish punk (Vånna Inget, Terrible Feelings).

Poison City Records is also reissuing Michael Beach's excellent album "Gravity/Repulsion".

Recorded with acclaimed studio engineer John Lee (Laura Jean, Love Of Diagrams, Blake Scott) at Phaedra Studios in February 2021, new single ‘Ammo’ is a bold album icebreaker, a synthesis of futuristic rock and post-punk textures, that casts a sublime and heady spell. As an extra-dimensional offering, MOD CON have also shared a thumping jungle remix of ‘Ammo’ as the single’s B-Side courtesy of local producer Ela Stiles, which shines a different light on the concepts and rhythms at play.
