AUGH and on a day where i have few words... (i went swimming for quite some time today)

i dunno, i just love the series. i think gen 5 is the best because it's the closest the series gets to like. You Just Get To Straight Up Beat Up Fascists (because the way team plasma works is very much like the fash trying to sneak in and steal power for themselves—they were NOT there to free pokémon, they were there to make sure that when they started getting aggressive towards people, that nobody would have any way to defend themselves)

i love the little guys. i love the babies. the tiny ones. however, hot take: the eeveelutions are mid, and sylveon is my least favorite (though espeon is my favorite). #NotMyTransgenderPokémon (just me specifically, y'all by all means can love sylveon as your trans pokémon. however, mine is salamence)

i really love watching people on showdown doing wacky shenanigans and putting together teams that somehow steamroll anyways! temp6t and weedletwinneedle my beloveds

tw: pandemic. looking for: validation, tips. i've heard some people have had setbacks thanks to the pandemic and that it's normal to struggle but it's hard to believe. i feel i need to make changes in how i've been handling things. even though this is pessimistic, it feels like the pandemic will never go away in my community, since it hasn't been managed well by our local government. my family is handling things better and i'm the only one slipping back into old habits so i feel very alone.

I understand what you mean. This pandemic is a collective trauma, feeling the impact of that is expected. We are two years into it and it is still not ending. It mkes complete sense that you are struggliong. I know I am.

It is hard to balance everything right now. And that is okay. It is okat to be “pessimistic” because when the reality actually sucks, everything seems pessimistic rather than realistic. I am not saying that the pandemic will never end, but I do know that we don’t exactly have an ed date and that cna make it feel never-ending. 

My suggestion is to give yourself space to feel and acknowledge all of those negative things. Yes, this sucks. Yes, it is not fair. Yes, it is not being well managed. Yes, things are hard.

But then make time to find joy and delight in small things. A cup of coffee, a meme, a chat with  afriend, etc. Ground yourself in those little happy things, and that joy will begin to spread. I also suggest seeking professional help if possible because this pandemic has impacted us individually and collectively in so many ways.

Having a rountine can also help you stay on track with prioritizing your well being. Connect neccesary tasks with fun tasks and they are more liekly to get done consistently.

I also want to say that you are 100% not alone in this expereince. I am right there with you, and so are mnay other people. We are not living in an easy environment. It is okay to be struggling. Make what changes you can, and forgive yourself for the rest. You will be okay.

My biggest advice for young trans people is to take it slow. There is no race or time limit to come out. Especially if you’d be unsafe if you came out. Take your time to be yourself.

my favorite pokémon of all time is spinarak. that's my son, that's my baby boy, that's my mimi (i have a sitting cuties plush). some close runner ups include skorupi, archen, budew, drifloon, torchic, piplup, turtwig, nymble, pawniard, and makuhita! and then we also have garchomp, haxorus, hydreigon, giratina, beedrill, and metagross on the... complete opposite side of the spectrum.

my favorite type is probably bug! (ghost types are a close second, though).

We all have put a cap of five dateables on ourselves, and I'm not the only one with five! But out of my lads, it has to be Washford. He's my favorite dateable, he's got such a nice voice—but Errol's growing on me a LOT! (It's mostly because I'm about to give him religious trauma up the ass and a big ol' crisis soon...)
