Hey y'all! Long time no see, huh?
So I'm sure y'all are wondering what's going on with Naegiri Week. Don't worry, it's not cancelled or anything! We are still hosting it this month, and I'm going to give you an update on what's going on.
The radio silence was never intended. Unfortunately, Rubix and I have been going through some hard stuff in our lives, won't get too much into it, but long story short, loss of loved ones, general seasonal mental health, and end of term college work piling up and weighing things down. We are still working to get things out and organizing behind the scenes.
On that note, this year will be the 10th Anniversary of Naegiri Week!
This silly little event has been running since 2015, originally starting during February but then moved to December. It has been years of love and creativity from dozens of people in the fandom. Whether you've participated once, or you're a recurring contributor, your additions have helped share the passion we have for this silly fictional duo. Thank you to everyone who has ever drawn, written, or even just viewed work from our amazing participants. I really feel like we're our own little community, returning at the end of the year to indulge in creativity.
We will host the event on the last week of December this year, from the 29th of December, to the 4th of January. We want to give as much time as possible to prep for the week while still remaining running in 2025, technically. I know I fumbled the ball on hosting this year, it has been a lot on our ends, but I don't want to cancel and let anyone down, especially on our 10th year running. That's a big deal! I can't think of anything special to plan, but maybe we can do a mini bonus event next year or something, if we figure something out.
We will release the theme list tomorrow. We have a lot of them to decide through and narrow it down to the 7 weekly prompts. Thank you all for your patience, and please don't stress. With less prep time, you don't have to push yourself to get things in on time. Remember we accept entries for up to a month after! Just remember to tag it with #naegiri2025 or it may get lost.
If anyone has any questions, our inbox is always open. Thank you all again for your patience with us, and continuing your interest in Naegiri Week. I'll see you tomorrow!
