Hi! I hope this doesn't come off as snarky or rude, but I've been seeing accounts like yours everywhere on tumblr and I was wondering what they're for? To make posts accessible obviously, but for who? And of what?

Thank you for asking! Accounts like ours describe images to make them accessible to blind or otherwise visually impaired people! Blind people in particular can only use tumblr by having something called a screen reader that reads aloud anything on screen that a blind person is hovering their finger over. The only problem with those is that screen readers cant interpret images, so a blind person wont be able to tell whats in an image unless it had a textual description below it. These descriptions also help colorblind people tell what the color scheme in a certain drawing is. You might see that image descriptions seem to be more popular in fandoms for podcasts, and thats because stories told through audio are more accesible to blind people than most other stories, and thus the fandoms have a lot more blind people
