I got nothing to say about this
I think my favorite part of the Owl House is that Luz + others think otherwise “lame” people are cool as hell! Not even in a sarcastic way, Luz genuinely thinks Lilith’s history knowledge and interest in bannisters of all things is rad! Luz thinks Raine, who makes violin puns on their Penstagram and runs off of stages is the coolest person ever and is in awe to meet them! Even Amity thinks Luz, who knows every Azura quote by heart and calls herself “Spellraiser” and “Luzura” is the bee’s knees! It’s just so fun
I actually really like the way Alador is being characterized just beyond “Shitty Parent”. I don’t think anyone would’ve bat an eye if they hadn’t done much more with Odalia and Alador but I REALLY like that the road they’re going down! He’s not really actively malicious in the way Odalia is, but he is malicious in the way like... letting someone bully someone else while you’re a bystander is malicious. He’s not a bad guy, he got tired and lost touch with his kids because of it, and took too many shortcuts when it came to “understanding” them. He was sort of like... passively bad compared to Odalia’s actively bad. He’s not necessarily a bad guy at heart, but he was/is a bad parent. To be fair, most of his exhaustion is Odalia’s fault, but it’s also clear he’s not absolved from being at fault just because of that either. There were MANY scenarios where he should have/could have stepped in but didn’t. He’s not immediately forgiven, or even forgiven to a great amount (hence the firm handshake lol), but he seems okay with that- which is much better than Odalia, who’s not going to be forgiven ever, or at all. And he doesn’t wait until he’s fully forgiven to start trying again. He really fucked it up, but he learned, and he wants to do better. I just think he’s neat!
Part of me is sad that Gravity Falls and Owl House weren’t out at the same time, because that would’ve been one HELL of a crossover episode
adrian grayes a LOSER his hair WHACK his shoes WHACK his entire look WHACK his personality WHACK everything HE WANTS darius already has
