The Time Has Come!

It's been a while, huh? Did you miss us? Admit it, you missed us! But MCYT Yuri Week is back and gayer than ever this year, with plans to run across a week in the middle of July 2025!

We'd love to have your input about potential week themes, or potential daily prompts, to use for the coming event. The model will be the same as the previous two events, where we have two prompts for each of the seven days, and you can follow one or both of them when creating your fanwork. So hit the askbox and let us know what you'd like to see, and we'll do our best to turn that into an exciting prompt list for you guys in return!

Hey folks! Originally we planned to send out acceptance emails tomorrow, Sunday 14th April, but due to unexpectedly busy schedules for everyone, we haven't all gone through the entries yet, so we're going to delay that plan until Tuesday 16th April instead. Thank you all for the amazing turnout, though - there were more than 50 total applications for us to look through! We'll be announcing guests in the next few days while you wait, so watch out for those posts :D

Hi, this is my first time doing a bang in the writer role so I was wondering: What are the general guidelines for the prompts themselves? Around how long should they be, how much should be revealed, etc. Thanks!

a helpful way to think of it is to start with what the ao3 summary would be - then after that add a couple of sentences to expand on the premise a little further. if there's anything you don't want anyone but your team to know before the publish date then feel free to leave it out, but putting spoilers in the prompt is the best way to attract an artist who wants to make art for the coolest moments in your fic!

Sorry it's been so long! Of course we'd love to return to this event. Obviously, it takes a lot of prep, so it wouldn't be for a few months if we did end up running something. Not to worry, though - MCYT Yuri Week may pop up again when you least expect it!

are there any restrictions on what characters you can draw for yuri week? for example if i headcanon a character as transfem is that still ok? ive seen some similar events with rules for that so i just wanted to double check

transfem headcanons are welcome! while we'd like to primarily keep the focus on characters who are already women or sapphic, we've had genderbend and transgender prompts in the past, and we're happy to see it again this year :D
