Joe Hills and Pearlescentmoon are both related to the moon and as such each other. It’s hard to explain how they’re related precisely so they just call each other cousins and that’s it. Upon her arrival on the server on season 8, the moon actually got too excited that two of its cousins were now in one place so it tried to hug them, resulting in the whole moon big thing.

There's a 'sacred' piece of graffiti that keeps following the Hermits to every new world, always appearing on the walls of the most prominent structures, and moving around when new monuments are built, e.g. the Deepfrost Citadel after its completion. Shrines have been built dedicated to it. People actually pray to it, though that originally started as a joke bit that actually worked once, and forever got immortalised thereafter.

It's a long passage, written entirely in Galactic:

Almost no one can read it, but it's magic writing in the language of the gods, so everyone reveres it anyway... Well, almost everyone. The people who actually know Galactic find this incredibly funny, because that text isn't actually anything holy (in the traditional sense, that is).

In fact, there's a theory that one of the Hermits fluent in written Galactic is the culprit who has been manually painting the text on each and every time. So far, the main suspects are Etho, Hypno and/or Grian, because the graffiti started in S7 when the former two had just returned and the latter had finally settled into the Hermits as a whole.

(P.S. go on, translate that totally innocuous sacred text :) absolutely nothing suspicious about it at all...)
