Anyway. May be a part 1? Let me know if you care for this haha.
Working Title: Dream Sequence
(GN! MC and Belphie)
Summary:
"He opens his eyes, and they're sitting across from him, on this table that seems to stretch for miles. Rays of sunlight spill onto the wood from behind him, casting their side of the room in shadow. "
AKA Belphie and MC meet in a dream.
He opens his eyes, and they're sitting across from him, on this table that seems to stretch for miles. Rays of sunlight spill onto the wood from behind him, casting their side of the room in shadow.
( Belphie's not sure of who got here first; did he intrude on their dream or were they a figment of his?)
They squint, and lean forward. Their nose crinkles a bit. His heart skips a beat. (His heart skipped a beat?)
Their eyes light up in recognition, and suddenly Belphie is filled with dread, but- just as soon he's hit with the warmest smile-
"Beel," they say, leaning back now, "I couldn't see you properly from here."
(Beel?)
They look around themself, albeit in a bit of a sluggish way, as if drained of energy. Belphie tracks each movement. Left, Up, Right...
Their eyes turn back to him. "Is something wrong?" they ask, brows furrowing a bit, "is there something on my face, or-?" They pull up a hand, rub at their cheek.
"No."
(Beel's voice, that was-)
Their eyes are back on him. "No, what?"
Belphie clears his throat, and all at once he's aware of being in a body much bigger than his own.
"No... no. There's nothing on your face."
"Ah."
There's a silence, awkward. Should he give it up? Just reveal himself, the big Bad impersonating his twin?
...For what?
This can be... fun. Yes, fun.
"Hey." He calls their name. They look at him once more. Their eye twitches, but their face smoothens just as soon. (Dream glitch? Is he waking up soon?)
"I wanted to say.." He lowers his voice, leaning in. They do the same. He fights the urge to grin.
"You never did say who was your favorite of my brothers."
They blink, eyes shifting to the right. Blinking again. Contemplating.
Silence, deafening.
They smile again, eyes and all, warmth seeping from their expression. "You're not the one who has to worry about that, Beel."
"...I don't have a favorite. I'm not even sure I favor all of you," they say, finally. "But."
And with that, Belphie feels the draw of reality tugging at him.
