Hi hi !! Can I ask for your thoughts in poly demon bros? I just read your post and it made me think of my mc who’s already in a relationship with someone they’ve been with since they were 14 ( they’re 23 ). While my mc in particular is canon poly. I wanna know your thoughts— like if you have further ones if it’s not like they’re dating bros first but instead this person they they get added in? If that makes sense? Like they knew their boyfriend longer and before them, would it change feelings?

I dont mind questions like this at all, no worries!

If I'm reading this correctly: you're asking for my thoughts on the brothers entering into a relationship with an MC who already has a partner?

(this has to be said but: i'm operating under the assumption that what you mean is that your mc and their partner started that relationship while at a similar enough age. I'm also treating this more like a general post.)

I think quite generally most of what I said in my previous post would still apply.. things like how time is managed and such.

If anything were to be different, I would say that would be during the initial stages? (Before/just getting into a relationship)

For example I would think Lucifer or Levi would be much more put off. Not because of anything bad, but just under the assumption that MC is already with someone and respecting that, and also perhaps being under the assumption that MC is monogamous. They'd both definitely sulk about it in their own ways though LOL... (Lucifer and Levi sticking themselves in their respective rooms.. MISERABLE..)

I'd see Mammon being bitter about this too at first and grappling with that, but actually struggling less than if MC were to want another partner when he was there before. (Though staying true to the previous post: he's still a bit difficult about it haha.)

Satan and Asmo I see just straight up asking at some point if MC is monogamous or not. Satan is definitely more direct though, while Asmo might dig around for the answer in a more subtle way before asking outright.

I don't see Beel having too much trouble? Mostly the same from the original post, he just kinda goes with wherever this takes him.

Belphie..... uhhhh. 😬 while not impossible.. also still mostly the same that i said before but definitely has no care to get to know the other partner, at least at first. (Would this change on MC's insistence... he'd try. Maybe. Lol)

I think I've mentioned it before but this blog isn't quite top priority in regards to posting daily, as writing is something I truly do just for fun !

So a long pause (or pauses) are inevitable since i end up focusing on what i mainly do (which is art!)

I have been thinking to do more Character Thought posts though, and maybe just bounce headcanon ideas back and forth. Would anyone want that ? Have this blog become more of a casual conversation rather than just a semi formal writing blog outputting content..? I suppose you guys can just send an answer to that via the inbox!

Happy Valentine’s Day, I don’t. Have ROMANTIC content per say, but this should contain discussion of Familial Love .. and we’ve evolved enough as a collective society to have today be about all sorts of love, right? Right,

These might be an unpopular opinion. Fair enough, I just wanted to address that.

This will, unfortunately, look a bit like a written variation of the Pepe Silvia meme. Apologies in advance.

I might …? Do more of these? Or even more parts to this one? We’ll see. Would like to know if anyone cares for this sort of thing. (Though that won’t exactly affect whether I do more or not.)

There are spoilers for chapter 16, in case thats a concern. Also mentions of death.

Uhhh,,, I kinda also agree there should be more exploration about Belphegor’s mindset on humans (and his own family) and why it changes so drastically to what he is currently in the game. And what’s going on in his headspace during lesson 16 to even have such a sudden, drastic change in opinion after the reveal…

I personally like Belphie as a character, though he’s not my favorite (that’s Levi, I relate to him on a spiritual level) though I have a lot of Feelings on this overly specific tidbit about Belphegor (and lesson 16 as a whole; though, who doesn’t in this fandom 😌?)

You both have kinda touched on this already, but I am always super torn on Belphie. I used to really hate him due to all of lesson 16 being just glazed over in the story.

Belphie develops such a strong hatred for humans out of sheer guilt. It says that he’s the first to be enamored by humans, always watching and visiting them. Then Lilith started coming with him. Then she fell in love with a human. Which then led to a war. Which led to Beel chosing Belphies life over Lilith. Which led to his brothers all falling and bring left in not great mental states for a while. Which also led to a seemingly 180 switch on Lucifer’s part, who is now so devoted to Diavolo out oh nowhere- chosing the demon prince over his family constantly. Every single step on these events Belphie feels guilty over because he turned Lilith onto humans. He takes all that self hated and directs it towards humans because he can’t do anything else. He lost the brother he used to look up to, thinking that he sold out to Dia, and the only other brother he is close to us Beel, and Belphie knows how upset Beel is about Lilith which only hightens his guilt. So when he’s locked up in the attic, he really has nothing else to do but stew in those really negative thoughts to the point of mania. Which of course led to him killing mc. So I guess I understand his perceived hatred of humans being washed away to fast? Because he never really hated humans in the first place, he hated himself. What I didn’t like story wise is MCs death isn’t brought up again, and Belphie literally had zero consequences for even doing it. The only hardship after was a slightly strained relationship with the brothers which was easily rectified. And MC was forced to help their murderer directly after being murdered.

All in all, I still love the game and story, but m always undecided how I feel about Belphie.

I don't really have much to add at this point .. but talking about Dia in this thread does make me wanna do a Character Thoughts post on him as well. (Though.. that one might ACTUALLY be controversial 😅)

(I can't recall where I heard it but there WAS a theory going around that Diavolo has actually been in love with MC this whole time and one of the ways to unite the realms would be.. to offer his hand in marriage. But this is a Belphie post so. Maybe for another post lol)

I think I would definitely write this one with one of the Other Dateables..

I guess what would be interesting is one where we'd see Diavolo and Simeon's stream of thought and it being something like "I can wait for MC because they will eventually end up in heaven/hell". (And either.. could be argued for I think. "MC is good and therefore when they die they'll end up in heaven" vs "MC will choose the Devildom and when they die that can be arranged".)

How these would be tied together.. would need more thought, but in the end it would be that both are willing to wait for MC to be in the Appropriate State (dead. State of Death? Haha) before really pursuing anything.

I think I would either somehow show that through two different scenes where MC would come to these conclusions, or have it be a conversation (or series of conversations) between the two.

(Would this be current canon divergence..? It might be.. im not sure actually im not upto the latest lessons..)

So I actually had an idea without looking at the song lyrics.. I'm deciding to run with it even after looking at them! (I hope thats alright 😅)

Also more of a ramble-y (?) one/idea like than the one I answered before !

So I think I'd write an introspective Satan-centric fic exploring his connection to the brothers.. what actually peaked my interest in the MC reveal after Belphie tries to kill them is Satan saying something like "I didn't know her (Lilith) from before, but I still feel happy somehow" and he implies that.. him and Lucifer are connected emotion-wise somehow? I've taken that as Satan maybe inheriting more than just Lucifer's wrath.. (perhaps fractions of Lucifer's memories regarding those important to him.)

It would probably be a multi-chapter fic, each one focusing on something Satan happens to know of whichever brother he is accompanied by that he shouldn't otherwise .. unless he somehow had Luce's memory.

(Chapters would be centering around one other brother, going in.. ascending? descending? Order.. whichever one would go from Belphie, to Beel, to Asmo.. etc.)

(Fourth chapter would be Satan remembering something about Lucifer's anger right before he was Made.)

I'm not.. quite sure how I would end this, surely with some climax concerning Lucifer's feelings about himself and perhaps a conversation about the fractured memory share..

(However, I think a fun bonus chapter would be with Simeon! Maybe something cute.. something revealing how Lucifer cared for him. Again, not sure what would happen.)

MC and Belphie are in the observatory/planetarium/whatever its called.. the place where they watched the stars. The same place where Belphie asks MC to join a pact with him.

It's nighttime, they're looking up at the stars.

There's a whole setup, too. This is something the two of them do on the regular, just pulling up with a comfy pillow and a blanket to share. It started because MC was super stressed about something at some point, and it happened to settle in Belphie's mind enough that day to try and help them out a bit

After that first time, they both found that that they had a pretty good time. So they just .. sort of fell into a routine since MC has constant stress from multiple things like playing house therapist lol

Part of the reason why they have such a good time is because Belphie's surprisingly full of Random Star Facts, of both Devildom and Human World skies.

(Honestly? It was one of the ways he coped, especially right after...)

...and it felt nice, sharing this knowledge with someone who didn't already know. It wasn't all that impressive to him, but MC seems fascinated.

(He likes the feeling, no he doesn't, yes he does, only because- no he-)

And this time is like the others, where they're lying back, staring up at the sky. Belphie points things out, they talk about it, the conversation meanders in 5 different directions, only to circle back and tangent even more.

But at some point, its comfortable silence. He glances at them, they don't notice.

His eyes just.. stay on them. Watches the faint light illuminate their face.

(Their face is.. really lit.. the stars don't give off.. oh.)

(He looks away, closes his eyes a bit, willing his eyes to dim. Only opens them when they don't feel like they're heating up anymore. Normally he's more in control over it than that.)

(He wants to look at them again. Why does he want to look at them again? This is dumb. This is-)

(And he isn't the only one, either, he realizes. His mind flips through memories of them, how the House now seems to move and sway along with their influence, how he and his brothers circle around their approval, their laughter, their content-)

(He looks up at the stars. The stars twinkle, winking back at him.)

(A galaxy. His brothers and him.. only stars in their galaxy.)

(...how embarrassing.)

To address the part about Lucifer doing a 180 in his devotion to Diavolo.. I'd always assumed that this was born out of a fear for his brothers if he were to displease Diavolo in any way, since they did make a deal and Diavolo does, it seems, have power over all of them. (I'll admit here though that I know there's a card where Diavolo and Lucifer are talking about their time when Lucifer and his brothers first descended and I haven't read it..)

(I have quite a bit that i hc about Dia.. i guess some relevant to the present discussion: I've always felt that while Diavolo genuinely just wants to get along and just be "Diavolo" rather than "the Future King of the Devildom", Lucifer and his brothers feel that they cannot afford to gamble with Dia suddenly changing his mind on that and turning informality against them at a moment's notice. It seems a very one way street that Diavolo has the privelege of crossing. Whether Dia is aware of this or not is a little subjective, but it would explain a bit about his loneliness and how acutely aware he seems to be of that, besides other factors.)

As for the quick turnaround with Belphie being forgiven .. this has always been a gripe for me as well. I'll be honest here and say that I chalk more of this up to Bad Character Arc writing as opposed to actual character flaws within the cast. Talking to a few other people has also led me to notice that the writing between chapters 16-20 just seems super rushed in general, as if the writers had to cut corners. Maybe for deadlines? For chapter count? I wouldn't know.

(On a bit of a less relevant note .. this is definitely not my first or last gripe with OM 😅)

I ABSOLUTELY agree with your first point, and it was what I was trying to get across in the latter part of my original post (i guess it didnt come across very well 😅)

Actually I do agree with pretty much all the points you made (and I'll be thinking about your third in particular for a bit.. that is such an interesting HC and im so glad you shared it here)

As for angel event, there wasn't much to miss from what I remember so 😅😅

And I do wish fandom just .. Did More with Belphie, and honestly just with the lore given in general? (Acknowledging of course, that Lore probably also isn't the main appeal for an otome game.. haha)

As for the AU (both exchange guide and TSL) .. I FEEL THE SAME. I'm surprised I haven't seen any variation of it crop up, and I've dug through quite a few places .. There's honestly quite a bit I'm surprised to have not seen, what with this fandom having Alot of people!
