“oh man, look at those lights!!”

 you glance over to your boyfriend as he runs over to a large display of christmas decorations and lights. swiftly, you follow behind to catch up. the display is exquisite. illuminating the people watching, the assortment of lights gave character to the objects they represent, from kids’ characters to iconic christmas icons, you felt as if you were in a trance.

        you turn your head to face tendou. like you, he was memorized by the lights, face relaxed with awe and contentment. little puffs of air released from his mouth after each breath. he grinned before turning to you.

        “you see that there? if you look closely, each light is in the shape of a snowflake…they’re all unique, but they come together to create something so beautiful.” as he finishes, he looks straight into your eyes. “kinda like us in a way, no?” quickly, his demeanor changes back into something that of cheerful, and grabs your hand, pulling you away to see the other displays.

        after a quick trip to your local target, you had a plan set and ready to go to surprise tendou. setting a small stool right near the window of your shared apartment, you reach for the ceiling, planting small hooks. soon after, you grab the small christmas lights that you purchased earlier and begin to place them on top of the hooks. to your dismay, you couldn’t keep them from slipping and ultimately falling. you could only groan as you lean your head back in annoyance.

        “do you need help hanging up the christmas lights?” a cocky voice says behind you. coming as a surprise, you gasp and lose footing before almost falling. luckily, tendou reaches out and catches you by the arms.

        “woah there, i thought you already fell for me last winter.” he chuckles.

        “haha, very funny…” you chuckle and roll your eyes. he looks at you before tilting his head. “so what were you doing with the lights?”

you sigh and respond, “i wanted to do something nice y’know? you looked so fascinated by the lights the other day. i just wanted to see that again.” a blanket of silence filled the room. tendou slowly wraps his arms around yourself. he brings his head closer to your level, mouth dangerously close to your ear.

 “i appreciate the thought, but i’m just much more fascinated by you… the light of my life.” you couldn’t help but melt even further into his touch. the lights left ignored, you and tendou just take in this moment. 

tendou pushes himself away before asking with a grin, “wanna watch that christmas anime special?”

        “sure… i’d like that.”

hello, i’m mod osamu and the owner of @inarizakin​. this blog is a fun lil haikyuu kin help blog where i make icons, flag icons, positivity, pendulum readings, moodboards and kincalls (kincalls only if you’re over 18).
