Hi everyone! Hope you’ve had a good Christmas/New Year/Holiday season.

THANK YOU to everyone who followed in the last 12 months (as well as everyone who’s kept following). It’s been encouraging seeing all this interest despite the long bouts of inactivity (explained below).

I know 2020 was a rough year for all, but the first 5 months were actually okay for me. I’d lost my job in December 2019 (& got a pretty good redundancy payout). Due to the bushfires and then the COVID outbreak I wasn’t expected to look for work until July... So I spent most days being creative with gifs and my novel.

But then June 2020 hit my family hard.

Y’see, my mother has multiple myeloma (cancer). It was diagnosed 3.5 years ago, but it took a very bad turn in 2020. Thankfully, with understanding doctors (not to mention Universal Healthcare & some pretty good private health insurance), my mother has been progressing well and gradually getting healthier with each month of treatment.

My stress levels have been in flux since June. I have my own health issues (incl. a vestibular disability), which makes it hard for me to care for my mother as much as she required in those first few months... but I did my best, with some help from family, friends, and healthcare workers. My mother’s fairly independent still, so I’ve been blessed in that regard. And she’s been blessed with me living with her all these years.

It wasn’t just that keeping me from posting regularly. I also had some incredibly crappy technology to work with. But I’ve recently bought a faster-processing laptop which is about THREE TIMES as fast in regard to Photoshop creations... So I see some hope on the horizon for my future rewatches.

But I won’t promise too much just yet (still getting used to the various changes).

My goals for the current[ly lagging] rewatches.

Community Season 2 - ends March 10.

The Good Place Season 2 - resumes mid-late March.

Manifest Season 1 - resumes mid-late March.

Keep Well, followers!

My best friend and I are now in the habit of saying “Keep Well” when we sign off from chats. It’s an easy phrase laced with an earnest hope that the recipient doesn’t fall ill during these troubling times.

So, Keep Well, faithful followers. You are all appreciated.

This blog went on an unplanned hiatus over Feb/Mar while I focused more on the 2nd Draft of my novel. I’m still doing that - it’s a long and tricky process - but I’m now at a point where I can focus on other creative pursuits. The mandatory shutdowns around my country also allow for more time and less stress about having to find a job (can’t look for jobs that don’t exist).

On to the update...
