I was searching for a certain gif from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. (which, by the way, I did not find) when I saw an outlier... @shipwreckedcomedy
poe party ernest hemingway x reader attend a wedding
Based on 1:25 from Poe Party Ch. 2
“Darling don’t worry about me, I can behave,” he winks at you over his glass of scotch and raises it to his mouth.
You weren’t, worried, exactly, but no one’s ever ready to bring a partner under the scrutiny of your family. No, it’s going to be fine. It’s one night. He’s a published author. That’s more than your snarky Uncle Dan’s own children can say.
Two weeks later, he helps you out of the car, and you intertwine your fingers together as you both turn the corner to the venue of your cousin’s wedding.
————————————————————
The ceremony is beautiful and goes off without a hitch. One overwhelmed flower girl and a clumsy ring bearer does not a wedding ruin. Your entire troop of an extended family traipse over to the reception.
“Oh I haven’t seen you in so long! I’m so glad you could make it. And who is this?”
“Aunt Stacy! It was a beautiful wedding, you must be so proud! And this is Ernest.” You say.
Ernest keeps a hand on the small of your back, takes Aunt Stacy’s hand, and leans over to kiss it with a roguish smile, “Very pleased to make your acquaintance my lady - ow,” You stepped on his foot.
“Flirting? When I’m right here?” You say.
“Well you two make a beautiful couple. How did you meet? How long have you been seeing each other? Do your parents know about him? Have you met his family?”
Out of the corner of your eye you see your cousin Lucas do a double take and blatantly check out Ernest, and you stifle a groan. Cousin Daisy is inching over. Great-Uncle Robert is also doing a very conspicuous job of eavesdropping. It’s going to be a long time before you get to your seat.
————————————————————
Ernest turns away from your latest family member’s inquiries that he met with charm and ease and takes a swig out of his flask. He leans over and whispers, “When are they going to serve food? We haven’t eaten all day.”
You give his hand a quick squeeze, “Soon. Thank you for sticking through this.” You wince at the alcohol on his breath but he seems to be holding it together.
Turning toward the doors, a parade of waitstaff stream in holding platters full of dome plate covers. A server places a bowl of red soup in front of you. You glance down in alarm, and back up at Ernest.
Ernest’s eye twitches. You grab his hands, “Please don’t.”
“Darling, can we leave? This is offensive.”
“If you can sit through this, we can go back to our hotel room tonight, order room service, and then-” you place a hand on his shoulder and whisper the rest of your plans in his ear.
His eyes widen, “Anything for you, my darling,” he says roughly.
Shipwrecked Comedy Merch
Got some merch for Christmas because everyone who knows me has been forced aggressively pushed to watch Poe Party and the rest of the Shipwrecked repertoire and are so sick of hearing me obsess over these insanely talented people. I have used my same small-ish bag for 5 years now and I got the tote for Christmas. It made me very happy. It is well made, large enough so you don’t have to rearrange everything so they fit, and has Poe Party Authors on it; What more could you want! I also got a tshirt. Honestly I wasn’t expecting much. When you get fandom tshirts they are usually stiff but this was well made as well as extreamely comfortable.
So, if you want to support these amazing people, I highly reccommend getting some merch. It also feels great to support creative, hardworking, kind, and extraordinary people!
Shipwrecked comedy is amazing and deserves more appreciation.
I mean, Poe Party is amazing and so creative and makes me laugh every time. It also uses parts of Murder on the Orient Express so well.
The Case of the Gilded Lily is the short film I never knew I needed.
I’m a sucker for anything 1920s themed, so American Whoopie is something I can watch when I’m down.
A Cryptmas Carol came out my last day of finals, so I returned my math textbook and watched it while waiting for my friends.
In addition, everyone in it is amazing
