Just a reminder that hurtful generalizations and name-calling go against our blog rules.
“Please no name-calling or submissions that are intentionally inflammatory or ‘troll-y.‘ For example, a post like ‘All OC blogs suck!’ will be deleted. However, a post like, “I’ve never had a good interaction with an OC blog!” would be accepted. The first is a biased generalization, while the second is purely someone’s personal experience.”
The mods all decided when beginning this blog that it was too easy to create an anger-fueled, hurtful environment by allowing such submissions. No one likes being generalized or stereotyped, and tempers tend to flare when it happens. This rule is our effort to curb such situations.
Basically, be mindful of your wording. Using terms like ‘All blogs/muns who do this are this’ is probably only going to be accepted if it’s positivity. However, there are ways you can reword your submissions to make them acceptable. We assume if you’re posting here, it’s because you’ve had a bad experience yourself. Use that. If you can personalize your submission, it’s much more likely to be accepted.
Won’t be Accepted: Muns that use models for faceclaims are SO vapid and shallow!
Will be Accepted: Why is it every time I interact with a mun who uses a model as a faceclaim they always turn out to be SO vapid and shallow?
The first one is worded in a way that seems to want to cause hurt and/or start an argument. The second one vents a personal frustration without offending/upsetting an entire demographic of roleplayers.
We knew when we made this rule that it might create issues. However, we decided we wanted this blog to be more about our individual experiences as roleplayers rather than a way to anonymously ‘callout’ that blog you don’t like by insulting something that they do and making a bunch of other people feel bad about themselves in the process.
If anyone needs additional clarification regarding this rule, you’re welcome to ask. This blog is a work in progress, and the mods want to do our best to make sure the rules make sense to everyone.
