Therian here! [Arctic fox, specifically :D] I haven't seen much discussion on it, and was wondering what y'all's opinion on some theriotypes being more common due to imprinting on a family pet at a young age is? [Such as a cat, dog, bird, etc] Agree? Disagree?? [Or feel free to trash this ask completely LOL]
It does seem like a common possible explanation for many people, although I haven't paid too much close attention. Many have likely grown up alongside their pets, feeling greater kinship with them than the rest of their family, and it makes sense that otherkin identities often develop out of that.
