Kaede didn't kill Rantaro + Extra
If you couldn't tell, spoilers.
I added a lot more to this, I hope you like it, Anon! :) - Mod Somey
This wasn't a good feeling.
Was she really about to do this? She wasn't a killer! No way!
But she could kill the mastermind…
No. Kaede stopped as she felt the weight of the shot put in her hands. If she threw this, it would kill someone.
Mastermind or not, no one here deserves to die. Except for her if she threw this. She placed the shot put on the ground and ran after Shuichi.
She caught up to Shuichi quickly and opened the bookcase to see Tsumugi and Rantaro wrestling on the ground, Tsumugi with a shot put in her hand.
Rantaro was getting weaker, his collar bone was shattered. There was so much blood, a deep hot pink color, it might have been pretty if it wasn't coming from Rantaro.
Kaede looked at Shuichi, they had the same idea.
Kaede ran and tackled Tsumugi, getting her off Rantaro, Shuichi had run off to go get the others, the music was blaring over Kaede and Tsumugi's struggle.
Rantaro had gotten up and managed to grab the shot put out of Tsumugi's hand.
Kaede could hear shouting, Shuichi must have gotten others, she saw Kaito grab Tsumugi and pin her down with her. She smiled, grateful he'd come to help her.
She saw Kirumi and Maki help Rantaro away from the room, hopefully to the nurse's office.
Kaede sighed in relief, she just stopped a murder.
But what about the countdown?
She prevented a murder, but everyone else could die right now.
What if she just stopped the Mastermind's death? Rantaro could have been the mastermind, and she just stopped his death.
Kaede felt herself panic, this wasn't good. She wasn't sure, she didn't know, who did she save? An innocent person, or the mastermind?
She heard alarms and looked up, the timer had run out.
Everyone was quiet. Kaede felt her blood run cold. Kaito's face went from white, to blue, to purple. She was scared he would pass out.
Kaito started coughing, he covered his mouth, and the cough stopped as soon as it started.
She could hear Gonta crying, Angie trying to calm people down, and Kokichi was nowhere to be seen.
But Monokuma never showed up.
Where was he?
She looked down and saw Tsumugi struggling to get up again.
She looked closer, Tsumugi had a remote in her hand. She was trying to click something, Kaede quickly snatched it out of her hand.
She looked at it, it was black and white, had Monokuma's eye on it, and had 'Team Danganronpa' written on it.
Kaede stared. This was the Mastermind. If they killed her. It would be over.
Kaede was silent. Did they have to kill her?
She heard laughing, she looked over and saw Kokichi.
She heard Kaito say something, but the ringing in her ears wouldn't stop. Rantaro might die. They have to kill Tsumugi. Tsumugi is the Mastermind.
Why? Why did this have to happen to her? She didn't want this. She never wanted this. It wasn't fair.
Kaede felt the ringing get louder.
She couldn't hear. Her head was pounding.
Kaede's body went limp as she collapsed.
Kaede woke up and Tsumugi was gone. Everyone looked horrified, Rantaro was there, his neck and shoulder were tightly wrapped in bandages.
Everyone seemed scared, and confused.
But there was something else in their expressions she couldn't read, until it happened.
"We all wanted this." She looked at Shuichi in confusion.
"What?"
Shuichi was crying, "We all wanted this."
Kaede listened in horror as she heard everyone, saying this Killing game was the 53rd. Rantaro was silent the whole time.
Finally, everyone finished and looked at Rantaro.
"Why didn't you say anything?" Kaede sobbed as she looked at him. He stared blankly at her.
"I said I couldn't trust anyone. I can't even trust myself. I didn't know if I could tell any of you. I'm sorry."
Everyone was silent as they took in Rantaro's words.
"Where's Tsumugi?" Kaede croaked.
Everyone's face wore grim expressions.
Maki took a deep breath, "She thought she killed Rantaro, and told us everything. She said she got caught and," Maki took another deep breath, "Punished herself."
Kaede gasped in horror, "Why would she?"
Maki explained that she said everyone had to participate in the next killing game.
Kiibo's eyes flashed, "I refuse to let that happen."
Everyone stared at Kiibo, "The hell are you talking about?" Miu squinted.
Kiibo walked off. It was quiet for a few minutes until they heard it.
Explosions.
Quickly, everyone ran out to see what was happening.
Kiibo was destroying the academy.
Things were exploding, debris was floating in the air, buildings were crumbling, Kaede watched from the crowd as things were being destroyed.
She looked up and saw a bunch of rocks were about to fall on the group, she couldn't even scream before the rocks fell. She heard one last explosion before everything went quiet.
Kaede groaned as she woke up, she moved and felt the rocks shift, she pushed them off and saw others helping each other get out from under the rock, she looked in shock as she watched Tenko pull Rantaro up from under the rocks.
She grinned for a while, everyone was alive! Everyone except…
Kaede felt her smile fall.
Everyone except Kiibo.
"He sacrificed himself to save us." Kaede mumbled. She walked over and grabbed onto Shuichi, she hugged him, feeling that if she let go, she would lose him.
She felt an arm wrap around her, she looked up and saw Rantaro smiling at her, she noticed he wasn't moving his injured arm.
She felt more and more people hugging her, even Kokichi.
Kiibo's sacrifice would not be forgotten. All Kaede whispered as she fell into the warm embrace of her friends was,
"Thank you, Kiibo."
