Can I just say I LOVE this line? Jack is refusing to be intimidated by Pulitzer, saying that he won’t back down from this fight. But he’s also hardcore roasting him by implying that he would side with the confederates, since he treats his workers like slaves. (It could also be a pun because Pulitzer hates the newsboy union, and Jack is implying he hated the historical union as well).

Hey there! I'm writing a high school AU and was wondering what y'all think some of the newsies could be in which cliques. For example, Jack is an artist, JoJo is a weaboo, Katherine is an Honors Kid/Band geek, etc.

See, THIS is the kind of ask I love to get! Although these are just suggestions, here’s what cliques I think fit each character I’ve analyzed are:

For reference, popular doesn’t refer to Regina George type characters, just characters who are nice and get along with most people or have a large circle of devoted friends. A follower is someone who hangs out with these people but may not be popular themself. Lastly, bully doesn’t necessarily mean violent, just occasionally mean spirited. My favorite newsie (or Newsies character) is an even tie between 92sies Crutchy, Sarah, and Romeo. As for actors, it’s cute how you think I’ve met any. I’m not a “cool” fansie, lol! ~ Mod Strings

What songs does Davey sing

Davey has solos in Seize the Day, King of New York, and Watch What Happens Reprise. He presumably also sings in The World Will Know and Once and For All. This applies to the stage musical. ~ Mod Strings

This may be a weird a question, but I just want to know more about JoJo. I’m playing him in my high-school’s spring musical. I’ve tried to do research but I couldn’t really find anything. I just want to portray him really. Any information is useful. Thank you in advance!

I’m assuming you’ve already read JoJo’s article if you’ve done the research, so I’ll give you some other tips. 

Make headcanons. Just. Make stuff up about JoJo, and incorporate that into the way you act him. It doesn’t have to be based on anything at all. Whatever you want, that’s JoJo now.

Look at other actors’ interpretations of JoJo for inspiration. Find some bootleg clips and keep an eye on his mannerisms and such.

Research some things related to JoJo. Like, what was it like to be raised by nuns in 1899? To be a Spanish speaker in New York City? To be a newsie in general? These can help make your character seem more real. 

Collaborate with some other ensemble actors. If the characters you play interact, it can flesh out both of them!
