There was this Newsie art with Jack and Crutchie that I saw like two months ago that I really liked and now I wished I reblogged it. It was so cool and I loved the angle and the drawing and everything.

i know jack kelly was HYPED getting to vote for presidential nominee teddy roosevelt
jack as jack😭😭 jack jack😢😢
i like when u over analyze newsies lyrics and its like damn actually poor jack w the weight of the world on his shoulders cause like DAMN!!! “jack says to change my spot” just such a subtle way to show how much he stressed and worries about those freaking kids. “thats a face that could save us all from sinking in the ocean” Christ!!!! and even “and we’ve got jack” like omg hes just a kid!! he was born 3 seconds ago!!! my baby boy
hear me out on this hc that dally (the outsiders obviously) is jacks (newsies) great grandson. listen to the logic.
so, we know jack was born in 1882 because he’s 17 during the events of the strike. we also know dally was born in 1948. so, to begin, jack has a daughter at a young age. his daughter is born in 1905 when jack is 23.
jacks daughter has a son in 1926 when she’s 21. now this is jacks grandson.
jacks grandson has a son at 22. the son is dally, who is now jacks great grandson.
basically, jack never got to leave new york, so his entire family stayed there until dallys dad, who obviously went to tulsa with dally.
and of course the last names got changed up in there somewhere which is why dally and jack don’t have the same last name.
anyway thanks for listening to my awesome cool presentation
letter from the refuge v santa fe always gets me bad ugh. jack's totally given up he's been knocked to the ground enough times to just lie there and accept that the strike cause is over and he's lost his best friend and he'll live and work and die in new york at the rate everything's moving at. and crutchie's like well hey pulitzer's going down! strike could still work! but also lol can u tell everyone to protect one another (speaking as though he might not make it back to tell them himself) :-( :-( :-( hope that only lasts so long for the both of them
can someone please write a Newsies prison au
Jack took responsibility for everything that happened during the strike by the way. He blamed himself for the injuries that the boys sustained. He blamed himself for Crutchie being in the refuge. He thought it was his fault that some kids were going hungry and couldn't support their families.
