good afternoon mrd nation today i come here to bring you one of my own insanity sessions . so i listened to gehenna again, remembered the ending and started clawing in my enclosure yet again

this part in specific reminds me a lot of rat gods monologue near the end .. fighting against your nature is useless because you have no choice but to live !!!!!!

There's not much to say other than this game royally sucks when it comes to most forms of diversity. There are only two clockable guest characters of color in game (correct me if I'm wrong) out of seventy(+) AND they're both men. There's nothing wrong with that in of itself- or there wouldn't be if the dev team weren't lowkey playing in our face with their own antics- but they aren't getting marks for it, that's for sure.

Also yeah, I agree with a lot of you guys when it comes to Vera here. She, racially, is terrible representation. You simply can not clock her from that picture alone. Protagonist says nothing about it. AND, the creator's little notes about her kill tf out of me... like... were they high or something...? Or perhaps just feeling a lil slow in that moment?

It's truly common sense not to use that word, and also not that damn hard not to. It's an antiquated term that has ties to the colonial era, for fuck's sake. Just call her biracial. 🙄

Also... not saying that biracial white/black people can't be blonde and pale, but are they aware that melanin is in fact a dominant trait? And that afro textured hair is very distinct from that looser, intentional curlage you see in older white fashion? You can't just say she doesn't have a complex then not give her something to have a complex over, like let's be real lmao.

I will admit fault that I accidentally deleted an ask. Here's also some footnotes that I (personally) gather from both ends, since there seems to be a pervasive lack of understanding and it's getting tired atp.

Not exact, but essentially: "This game is set in Russia, I don't know why so many people want a rainbow cast. It just seems like American essentialism that you guys want racial/queer diversity from a game like this."

Generalized argument against said diversity:

"It's unrealistic to have more"

Obviously people in both groups have a very different approach, no? Headcanons may be annoying at times but they ultimately don't do jack. Also, countering claims of bigotry with another claim of bigotry isn't exactly the ace card you think it is. There are racialized and LGBTQ+ people in Russia, and to act like wanting to see that represented more in a game about looking past exteriors is interesting to say the least.
