Thoughts?
I was thinking about hosting an original character appreciation day on the blog tomorrow, where people submit either pictures, descriptions, or both for their Breath Of The Wild ocs.
What do you all think?

“ Honestly the saddest part of botw is all the ruins found everywhere. Like I understand it’s for he story but I want to see some of those ruins in their prime. Full of people you know?” - anon
Hey all,
About to head back for break, hopefully some headcanons coming your way soon!

This was never addressed in-game, but I imagine that, after pacifying the Divine Beasts, Hyrule still needed pilots to guide them. After the Calamity was dealt with, Zelda chose new pilots, with a few suggestions from Link, of course. Sidon was given Ruta, Riju was assigned to Naboris, Teba to Medoh, and Yunobo Rudania.
Imagine how different their behaviors about the Beasts are compared to their predecessors.
For instance, while Revali wouldn’t mind taking his beloved up to Medoh, or friends to show off to, Teba goes into Dad mode when it comes to the Beast, and his feeling is basically that if you can’t fly, you shouldn’t be on it (with the exception of the other new Champions and the Princess, of course. He really has no choice in that matter). It’s not that he has anything biased against non-Rito, it’s just that he fears that someone who can’t fly might fall off without his knowledge. He won’t even let his own son up there until he’s older.
Riju would be so timid around it at first. Sure, she may have been close enough to it to let Link climb aboard, but being on it is an entirely different feeling. Not only is Vah Naboris massive; it also moves. While she’s on top of it. It was while looking down at the vast sea of sand below her that Riju discovered she has a fear of heights. She knows that, the more she becomes acquainted with Naboris, the less daunting everything will seem, but that’s just it; it takes time. She wonders how Lady Urbosa must have felt when she first piloted it.
Sidon is perfectly adjusted to the water and can dive off of Ruta whenever he pleases, so the concerns that plague Riju and Teba never occurred to him. However, knowing that his sister walked these very halls, doing the same thing that he is doing now, but only a hundred years prior, fills him with a heavy heart. He feels that he has been entrusted with a sacred duty, and as such, there is a certain amount of respect that must be shown. The only other people that are allowed to board Ruta are the Champions and Zelda. Anyone else who tries will be politely shooed away.
Yunobo doesn’t like loud noises, so the periodic yelps made by Rudania made him think twice about his new position. Since he was requested to do this by the princess herself, though, he knew there was no turning back. Because of the lava that surrounds Rudania’s stomping grounds, Yunobo is very hesitant to let the Champions onboard. Fire elixirs may keep them from burning and inhaling the many poisonous gases given off by the mountain, but they sure as heck didn’t prevent death by lava. Fortunately for him, the new Champions themselves aren’t fans of the heat, and would rather meet with him at a more temperate location. He learns the controls faster than Daruk did (he didn’t know it, but Daruk’s spirit was secretly watching his successor’s progress, and was rather pleased with him), and pretty soon he grew accustomed to the idea of piloting Rudania.
