Hi mods! I just reached Book 7âs battle map and was wondering if you guys had any general advice for how to select your team for it? I heard from other players that what makes it different than Book 6 towers is that you can lose cards as you go and would need to land on a specific node to restore/heal them.
So, is there any advice you could share?
(PS, I love your blog so much, Iâm always sharing the link with anyone struggling with battles, whether thatâs Book 6âs towers or the exams. You guys are amazing! Thank you for all your hard work! đ)
We have a general post on the Battle Map where advice on making teams is placed at the bottom. Generally, you want to craft a team with as much heals and HP buddies as possible, while having the power to kill fast before you lose HP.
Aside from the general advice, my personal advice is to create a team or a set of teams that consist of a mix of Defense, Balanced, and Attack cardsâideally with your bias or oshi because who doesn't want to smite their enemies with their faves đâand keep in mind who is your strongest attacker, who has the most HP, and prioritize their POW and HP buddies respectively.
For example, what I do in not only the later book 7 maps where you can select up to 10 characters but also in the map events is that I start out with my best team: Dorm Trey, Dorm Cater, Dorm Azul, Dorm Riddle, & Halloween Jade. I use that team because I have 2 heals from Trey and Azul, 2 large ATK DOWN debuffs from Cater and Jade, and 5 duos, with the strongest ones coming from Riddle and Azul. This team has 6 HP buddies and the two POW buddies are on Azul and Riddle. So I have my heals and HP covered, while also knowing who my biggest damage dealers are. And nicely enough, I have debuffs to lower the opponent's damage, so I lose less HP. And on top of that, there's a balance in elements, so I can deal with different battles with the same team. Yay!
This team also works if I use Shore Jade instead of Halloween Jade. I still have 5 duos (Shore Jade -> Riddle), but I get more HP and a heal, which is a big deal in maps.
You would want to make more than one team especially when you see that a battle is focused on one particular element. So for example, if you were to encounter a battle with primarily Water elements, you would want your strongest attacker to be Dorm Leona and have your biggest tank be Dorm Trey. Then work from there: who are their duo partners, how do you want to power up Leona more, which buddies would increase Trey's HP, etc. And if the next tough battle consists of mainly Flora elements, swap out Leona with Dorm Riddle or Rollo, or add in Halloween Silver since he can also supply a heal. Cards like Cerberus Ortho and Tamashina Leona can keep your HP high while also supplying a lot of heals for you. Basically, adjust accordingly.
Lastly, target the buff nodes as soon as possible. If you get them as early as possible, more of your battles will be easier to deal with. This one is more personal than general advice, but I like to leave the heal nodes to as later as possible. This way, I could be prepared to deal with the final boss. But it depends on the outlook of your teamâif most of your cards are wiped, and you're still in the middle of the map, best to heal so you have cards left for later battles.
