Wade looked over quizzically while Jason finished and stared at him from behind his mask. “Wow. That's dark, it's like our worlds are so different. But look, if the replacement thing bothers you so much, then why don't you talk to Timberlakes about? He seems like a smart kid. And as for letting J go, trust me, not everybody is as easy to kill as you.” He pulled his mask off slow before dropping his head down heavily, and Jason could see how...Unimpressed? Wade was with what he said. “And wasn't your whole fucking point to get him to break his rule, what, when you finally get his attention, you're gonna sulk about it?”

Ollie drew to his chest and stilled his breath. Centered and with target in sight, he looked to the person beside him. "So. You wanted to talk about something, right? I mean, most people don't visit here for fun anymore, and you uh.... Well, I'm just gonna say the spooky stuff is in Gotham, mostly. So why me, friend?"

He released on the last word and watched as his arrow split the grape he was aiming for, perched on top of a swing set that was actively in motion. Why he came up with trick shots like this, he stiill had no idea. But it only happened when his family was gone or he felt like he needed a fix. Of anything, not really drink. But the figure in his yard was probably going to be a much better distraction.

“ BATMAN OPTS OUT OF CIVIL WAR ”

Following Captain America’s denunciation of SHIELD and the UN, the superhero community is left divided. Heroes from Superman to Storm are standing by their comrade, refusing to register, and fiercely criticizing the UN and the Superhuman Registration Act (SRA). They argue that those pushing for registration are doing so with ulterior motives, and showcase little to no regard for the safety and privacy of those in the hero community.

Meanwhile, other heroes, including the Flash and Ms. Marvel, are rallying behind Tony Stark, in the hopes of preventing more tragedies such as the recent Stamford incident. However, one hero has decided to abstain from both sides entirely, with potentially disastrous results:

The hero known as Batman was taped on SHIELD body cam footage, during a hearing regarding his potential registration, declaring that he would take no side. An unknown source leaked this footage, but visual and audio analysis confirms that all parties, including Acting Director Maria Hill, are accurately shown. Batman was given a choice to either register or become an enemy of the State, to which he firmly replied: “I am not taking any side.”

The vigilante went on to explain that he wanted to find an alternative, rather than make a rash decision and that both sides could either “leave [him] alone, or get out of [his] way.” When agents were ordered to swarm the hero, he defended himself, incapacitating each attacker before calmly leaving the room. Sources corroborate that he continued this passive march out of Stark Tower, dealing with any more attackers “his way” as needed.

While SHIELD has not been breached for comment, experts agree that greenhorn Director Maria Hill is liable to listen to the Security Council’s call to shut down and isolate Gotham City, restricting the citizens from the country and world by military force. Whether or not Batman was aware of these stakes when he gave his statement, it was apparent he did not want his decision to be made public. Time will tell what this means for Gotham City, but for the time being, the Anti and Pro-Reg forces have both lost a valuable ally.

Pietro nodded and tapped his shoes to his toes behind him. "Yeah, sis, I got you." He took her arm over his shoulder and held her up by her belt with his other hand. "We're gonna be okay. Promise, we got this. Your big brother says so." He tried to keep it light, but things looked bad.
