It started snowing today and it really made me want to play Skyrim again. So I'm back at it!
I've also decided to completely re-do the winter overhaul. I learned quite a bit making it last year and at this point it's much easier to start over from scratch. The plugin size will be considerably smaller with hardly any loose textures. I'm also designing it to be more compatible with texture and tree mods. No interior objects will have snow, which was a huge issue with the original mod I made.
Trees and most exterior statics already have snow on them and I'm working on adding snow to some architecture pieces that do not have a snowy variant in the CK. I'm planning on adding snow drifts and ice to the landscape over time in later versions.
I found a script in TES5Edit that swaps landscape textures and I'm working on figuring out how to use it. I may need some help from experts, namely Zilav. This way, other workspaces will not be affected by the changes this mod makes and will have their normal groundcover without snow.
The screencaps I'm posting are from the old winter overhaul. More forthcoming, and maybe some saturnalia pics from that mod (may install one tonight)
The new version of the winter overhaul should be ready to test by next month if all goes well with the landscape swap.
