Kendall Jenner...a 'model'?

It’s so sad that people like Kendall Jenner can just buy their way into the fashion industry. I’m not being rude, but to be completely realistic, if she was from a more humble background she would never receive the opportunities that have been presented to her.

Kendall is pretty sure, but that’s it, there are so many ’pretty’ people out there. A model is a man or a women that has the ability to be more than a two dimensional image on a page, the best female models were so successful because they were more than a pretty face… they had a personality that shone through every shot (think young, cheeky Kate Moss ect.,)

Her success as a model in the industry is indicative of how cheap the fashion industry has become. How easily it can be bought. I know of many young models that surpass Kendalls apparent modelling talent significantly such as Stef van der Laan, that deserve the attention that in my opinion is being wasted on a spoilt 18 year old girl that woke up one morning and decided to be a haute couture model.

C’est la vie I guess, the rich bitches always get more than they deserve.

It's funny when people say things like "Modelling is not a real career and requires no skill or discipline." Yes what an incredibly easy career. Constant worry about staying in shape is not stressful at all. The fact that a couple pounds could cost you your career, wow who the hell would be intimidated by that? I mean look at Gemma Ward: incredibly successful model who gained weight and it's not like she received harsh backlash and endless criticism or anything. Of course not. Endless fretting about keeping yourself healthy. Not even one pimple can emerge because then you won't be perfect and no one is perfect except models right? Models have 0 imperfections, totally. A couple stretch marks from when you hit growth spurt? Not according to the magazines that say you were obviously overweight before your career and now you're struggling with anorexia/bulimia. But then again, rumors don't affect anyone do they? Especially not models because they're perfect right? A hard to break habit like smoking won't do here. They're supposed to be role models to young children! Because so many little kids read Vogue magazine and watch the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and would be disappointed that their favorite model smokes and lied about losing her virginity before marriage . Regular people can smoke, no biggie, but a model? *Gasp* That simply won't do! They're models and no matter how hard they try to break their habit they must try harder because they're models and they're perfect.  What about walking in sky scraping shoes the whole day but wait they're models and they're perfect so pain doesn't affect them. Of course. How about how nerve wrecking it is to walk in those death trap shoes down a long runway for one of the most prestigious brands in the world? No biggie because they're models and models are perfect. If they happen to trip on the way down that runway it's not like the media is going to rip them to shreds or anything. But wait-here's the best part about the job. Be careful not to get involved with any majorly successful artists or actors such as Orlando Bloom, Justin Bieber or Harry Styles because all of your hard earned success will be credited to your involvement with them. Of course to any normal person this is stressful. But they can do and handle anything because they're models and they're perfect.

Random thought

So my dream career is to be a fashion designer. As a fashion designer, it is important to choose the right model for the right design because it can either enhance the design or make it look less than what it is on the runway. Also, the way the model walks is crucial because it really can ruin the design. For photos, it's about how the model performs in front of the camera and how to express emotion and sell the product. Anyway, not the point of this post.

I'm looking at all these male models (yes, male models 'cause I wanna design female and male clothing) and I'm like, "Yes, I want him to be my model." But when I think about it, the dude's like 20 and by the time that I can design clothes on my own, he'd probably be like 28, 30. Which is okay for supermodels but not for any other type of model. I don't even know any male supermodels anyway.

The same goes for female models too. (not the not-knowing-any-female-supermodels)
