if you have any other ideas, let me know and i'll add it and credit you.
stick to your natural looks. many models have what might be considered mousy brown hair and it works for them. most models stick with their natural hair color, maybe with some highlights. stay with your natural brow shape, just with a little grooming. don't tan. some models have an 'alien' look, weird features, etc. what makes you different, makes you modelesque.
alternatively, if you want to change up your look, do something shocking like the complete opposite of your hair color and a new brow shape. don't go for a subtle change.
when in doubt, wear black. it always looks chic. play with different textures and proportions.
take care of your skin. preferably, do more than use a cleanser and moisturizer, but obviously do what works for your skin. use under eye patches, sheet face masks, clay masks, frownies, etc.
similarly, home spa days are your friend. get a portable heater and turn your bathroom into a sauna. take a hot bath, light a candle, and wear a cozy robe after.
i like to imagine models have certain habits for fight fatigue from traveling and always being on the go. drink a lot of water. make it a priority to get enough sleep every night. preferably, have a bedtime routine and go to bed at the same time every night. journal or read before bed. whatever calms you down enough to quiet your mind. exercise at night (but not too close to bedtime).
you can pretend you're traveling by having a go-to throw blanket, a neck pillow or a favorite pillow, and watching a comfort movie on either your laptop or a portable dvd player. wear cute sweats like you're in for a long flight.
use alligator or duck bill hair clips. use them for their intended purpose, wear them around the house to keep your hair out of your face, or wear them outside as an accessory.
use hair rollers if you can. try to get those voluminous loose curls victoria's secret is known for.
keep it classic. don't give into trends too much. only care about the staples. get dupes of 'it' bags (i'll post some later if i can find any). wear ballet flats, black boots, or dad sneakers.
wear skinny jeans in black or dark blue.
use wired headphones. duh.
eat mindfully. the fashion industry has an unhealthy mindset regarding food and weight and body image and that's not what i'm saying. have a nice, filling steak dinner with vegetables. sit at the table and drink some tea without distractions. try not to snack in bed. make healthy choices, both by eating foods that are good for you (unhealthy foods are perfectly fine in moderation) and by making sure you're eating enough. you need the energy to spend the day running around on 'go sees' after all.
if you want the aesthetic of smoking but rightfully don't want to risk lung cancer or smelling like an ash tray, carry sugar-free lollipops or toothpicks with you. is it just me or does it seem like models sit outside a lot? you can also make a phone call or listen to music or an audiobook.
pick a pair of signature sunglasses. you can't go wrong with an oversized pair. maybe you're more into futuristic glasses. find what makes you feel cool, important, and mysterious.
style-wise, less is more. keep it simple. let a few accessories shine.
wear a puffer jacket or a faux fur coat in the winter.
take family photos and pictures with friends seriously. do your best work because you know it'll end up on facebook, instagram, or immortalized in a photo album. of course, only do this so long as it doesn't negatively affect your mental health.
practice your walk. film yourself walking and watch it back to improve. do a runway walk on sidewalks. watch youtube tutorials to improve.
keep the fashion world in mind. read magazines and look at runway collections online. get coffee table books of luxury brands or high fashion models. get posters of either. if you can afford it, even if it's just one thing that you cherish and is second hand, get luxury makeup, perfume, or a signature piece like sunglasses, a bag, a scarf, etc. try therealreal, ebay, poshmark, depop, or thredup.
improve your posture to stand taller.
