If Duke Richards was a 21st century man, he'd def be the Vulture from Brooklyn 99. Who do you think would be the modern equivalents be for the other main characters of D&D (MC, Ernest, Annabelle, Luke, Prince Hamid, etc.)
You are so right, he would be. I’m stuck thinking of them now as characters in Michael Schur creations. GIF heavy post after the cut.
MC- Eleanor Shellstrop (thirsty bi-disaster who has no idea what she’s doing but still holding it all together)
Ernest Sinclaire- Ben Wyatt (probably always having heart palpitations, wants to do the right thing but only by the book)
Annabelle Parsons- April Ludgate (chaotic, sarcastic, and would set your place on fire if wronged)
Luke Harper- Terry (soft sweet man who could probably snap you in two)
Prince Hamid- Jake Peralta (a hero and adventurer who sometimes gets swept up in the moment)
Briar Daly- Kelly Kapoor (terrible relationship advice and a bit of a mess herself but you still love her)
Mr. Marlcaster- Andy Bernard (ivy league and inept at life)
Thereas Sutton- Gina Linetti (follows all the right people on Instagram, sometimes doesn’t make sense, but she knows all the shit on everyone)
I couldn’t find a GIF but Miss Holloway is totally Kamilah Al-Jamil, Tahani’s sister.
Someone help me figure out Mr. Chambers!
“Weapon Frieeeeeennndssss~”
Taiko Hinode is an upbeat, hyper-energetic 14-year old schoolgirl with a double life; with a little help from a mysterious magic tome she found at a concert, she transforms at night to fight cultists and monsters, keeping her identity a secret by donning a magical girl uniform. Years of fighting off monsters and cultists have made Taiko an incredibly capable and skilled fighter, both in physical might and magical capability.
Taiko is an orphan, with no real family to speak of, which has made her very self-reliant and independent. Balancing vigilante crimefighting and schoolwork would prove difficult for most, but Taiko takes it in stride. For some time, she’d simply walk into school ludicrously early in the morning after crime-fighting, and sleep on her desk until class started. Thankfully, she’s now lodging with her classmate and fellow adventurer, Ophelia Price.
Despite her seemingly limitless energy and combat skill, Taiko’s weakness is in her bombastically blunt personality. Taiko is emotion-blind, and says whatever’s on her mind, often very loudly, regardless of what situations might arise due to this. On top of that, she’s a terrible liar, often making things appear worse than the truth she attempts to hide as her imagination runs wild.

It’s Duo Verdepoing! (Last Name Pronounced “Bear-duh-pawn”) But you can call him Mr. V for short.
Duo is a student teacher at Lockheed Academy, assisting with Ms. Rosa’s class of stalwart students. His goal is to be that approachable teacher the students will say, “Yeah, Mr. V? He’s cool!” Any problem a student in his class has, he'll help however he can in order for them to succeed or feel like they belong and are accepted.
This attitude comes from his own problems growing up as a ruffian high schooler who ended up rolling with the wrong crowd. It all came back to bite him in the end, though. It wasn’t until he met his sensei and mentor, Master Kashirito, that he was able to build himself back up from the ashes and help keep the future generations from making the same mistakes he did! (He also learned a thing or two about martial arts while training with the old man!)
At the end of the day, be it test scores, fitting in, bullies, or the like...you can count on Duo to protect his students til the very end! [He’s no hero. Just a student teacher.]

Introducing the ever-shy Ophelia Price! Have you ever been the kid who felt more like an NPC than a protagonist? The one who sat at the back of the class without ever being noticed, and that’s exactly how you preferred things? Then you probably already know Ophelia’s struggle. She is the eternal observer, and is terrified of ever being engaged in the Main Story. She also keeps records of every last one of her peers. She even preemptively made a folder for Toby, even though it’s largely devoid of information yet-- well, except for notes scribbled in irritation at his expressed interest in “The Ladieeeeees”. This picture was drawn by me (MLoreley)! I’ll be posting more sketches related to Ophelia, including some with her little brother, Timothy, in the future! As always, thanks for listening!
Introducing Ken Nisoka!
If there’s one word that best describes Ken, it would probably be...average. Average build, average grades, average life in general. He’s hardly one of the popular kids, perhaps in part due to his odd-couple-esque friendship with Luey, but he’s hardly an outcast either. He’s just...Ken. The closest brush he’s ever had with greatness was that time he won a sweepstakes as a kid for a lifetime supply of Sol Chips and a bunch of cheap merch. And even then, he’d argue it really wasn’t that great; if anything, it’s just made him sick of the stuff after eating it on a regular basis for years. Aside from that, he’s a pretty unassuming dude. He’s pretty reserved and usually reluctant to go along with Luey on one of his crazy schemes, but perhaps this supposed “ghost-hunting” expedition might shake things up...
Today’s character art (and post) comes from CyberLink420, the unseen voice who brings Ken to life and tells him to do all the things. Perhaps this ordinary teen is meant for some greater purpose, but only time (and the DM) will tell...
You're a cashier from a small town in middle of nowhere Kansas . While visiting family on the coast you decide to pay for a boat ride around the area. There's no ocean on Kansas and you have to leave tomorrow if you're going to make it to your next shift.
The ocean is beautiful and you haven't really been paying attention to the other passengers. The skipper seems to know what he's doing and the first mate is nice enough.
You probably should have taken a look at the weather though.
The storm was bad and you were convinced that you were going to die. Would you neighbor keep taking care of your cat if you didn't make it back?
The next morning you awaken to find yourself sore and bruised, but alive. The skipper tells you that the ship is wrecked and the radio equipment was damaged. The island that you've washed up on seems to be deserted.
The first mate assures you that a search party will find you soon and directs you to where the other guests are waiting.
You walk away listening to the two talk about either repairing the ship or building a raft.
As you get closer to the the other guests you are half convinced you're still sleeping.
Because that's the only reason you might find yourself shipwrecked with Natalie Portman, Neil degrasse Tyson, and Jeff Bezos.
