Mauritius blue pigeon

The Syrian wild ass was the smallest subspecies of onager before thier extinction in the late 1920s. They were known for thier speed and beauty. Their extinction appears to have been caused by overhunting.
Glaucous macaw

Dusky seaside sparrow
Was a subspecies of seaside sparrow native to the salt marshes of Marritt island and along the St. John's river in Florida. Unfortunately the Marritt island salt marshes were flooded to control the mosquito population around the Kennedy Space Center. This lead the the sparrow population being killed.
The population along the river was nearly killed off by the construction of a road, pollution and pesticides. The six known survivors, all male, were captured and entered into a breeding program with the Scott's seaside sparrow.
Eventually these birds were taken to a protected habitat on Discovery island in the Walt Disney World resort. The last known sparrow, an old half blind male called orange band, died June 17, 1987.

Thylacine
Also called the Tasmanian tiger, Tasmanian wolf, coorinna, kanunnah, among other names. It was a carnivorous marsupial. It was hunted to extinction by colonists, the last known being caught in 1930.
This sketch is based on a photo I saw of a thylacine checking something out.
