Easter presents: Over the weekend, I was visiting friends and family out of town. A few of my friends have little girls who all happen to be the same age (around 4 to 5 years old), so I decided I’d make them something small for Easter. 

I used the Jewelry Pouch pattern that I wrote for Modern Patchwork Gifts last year to make these little drawstring bags. I used various Riley Blake prints that were in fun, girly springtime colours. Then, I filled them with Easter eggs and little toys.

They were a hit! The recipients were putting Legos and other little things into the inner pockets right away. I know they will be well used!

Jewelry Organizer Pouch - Modern Patchwork Gifts 2016: I’m super excited to share a project that I worked on earlier this spring for Modern Patchwork Magazine. They are doing their first holiday gifts issue this year, and it was just released today!

I wanted to do this project because I have had similar pouch given to me as a present many years ago. I loved and used it so well that I wanted to make some for gifts! There are pockets on the inside to organize earrings and rings, and a larger space in the centre for necklaces. They fit a surprising amount of stuff! I’ve been using mine for travelling over the last few months.

This project is on page 78 of the magazine - tagged as a “quick and easy” project! I haven’t received my copy yet, so I can’t wait to see it in print!
