A thought, the modern equivalent of the sort of artisanal toymaker figure that Gepetto was is the sort of person who casts model kits and sofubi art toys in their garage.
So it'd be very likely that a modern Pinnochio-equivalent would be either a rotocast kaiju toy or some variety of anime girl, with the equivalent to the talking log would probably be a suspicious bottle of weird casting resin that fell from the sky...
