Do you have advice for creating a murderer character? What I'm having a problem with is why they choose to kill instead of living life normally. What is their urge? I'd really appreciate your help, even if you can't provide much.
Ah I’m so happy QvQ this is the first Ask for the Creepy Corner! Well usually in cases of being a murderer, Insanity has a big hand in it all, Sociopath’s such as Jeffery Dahmer Ted Bundy ect. are honest to god examples of this. Another thing for this is possibly revenge, Not to sound Cliche or anything, but sometimes revenge can be a great motive for murder, especially if its a profile-type revenge (Such as killing nothing but pedophiles, rapists, ect.) And the last idea i have to give you, is basically what I call, the Snap.The Snap is basically where the character has been pushed over the edge, take for example: Go to sleep, the creepy pasta about jeff the killer, the scene where he beats the shit out of randy for the first time. He had urges, not sexual ones, but violent ones. When randy bullied him, he snapped and the urges let out, he enjoyed the urges and so they continued coming back.
I do have to warn you though, If you use mental illness do it right and research it do not half-ass it , people will get offended if you do not portray the illness correctly and make a joke of it, take for example our Guide-mascot: Pseudo-chan! http://thesueclan.tumblr.com/tagged/The-Clan%27s-Guide-to-Sues She is a great example of what NOT to do!
