I don't want to lose modship but like I don't want to really play games at the moment either? like I'm not sure if there is like a minimum that I have to be on but I can't be in that chatroom either because A will be there and I can't see him talking and NOT talk to him it's just a shitty situation and I'm a little baby and oh well I guess if I'm not on then no need for modship.
I swear thats the only reason I go on these days.
Story time- Minecraft Modship: Im nice, but dont fuck with me when Im in power.
A while back, I was a Moderator for what, at the time, was possibly the best Minecraft server on the Web. We were sorta a strict server when it came to griefing or mistreatment, I being one of the more, erm, 'merciful' mods. Using a three strike rule, unless it was something severe, before banning the player. The others were sorta "your only warning is the rulesboard" system.
So one day, I was Invisible, patrolling I guess, as there had been a recent surge of new people joining the server; we always stood on some sort of lookout. When things slowed down a bit, two more people joined. I told my fellow moderators to continue with what they were doing and Id handle the two 'noobs'. The first one, which we'll call "A", joined, followed by his companion, "B". They both read the rules and 'escaped' spawn, so they seemed like decent players, as opposed to the idiots who couldnt figure out simple instructions.
Immediately, they began exploring, like alot of people do when freshly spawned in a server. They started heading west, which was a beach consisting of my friend and I's house, and various creations. (basically, we owned that paticular section of land.) B starts to look around, default skin and whatnot, as I watched about 6 blocks away, a plugin allowing me to be hidden from anyones view, A was off looking at something else. The first thing B does is look at the sign above the door of my friends house and starts breaking in through the side of the wall.
Note, the sign said: "Griefing or Stealing from this house will result in an Immediate ban."
He continues breaking things and gathering the resources like its some fucking farm. I mutter some words of insult under my breath, just before typing in and entering the local ban command.
One thing I should note, is the server is run on MCBans, a third party system that monitors all servers connected to it. The Admins/Mods of said servers can either Locally ban (only banned from that server) or Globally ban (banned from all MCBans servers) anyone at any time. The site also has a Reputation system with players and servers.
Now, After I had banned B, out of nowhere A starts bitching about B. As it turns out, B was A's little brother at the age of 6. Im trying to tell him nicely that it was a bad idea to do so, and I feel I should undo the ban.
BUT HANG ON, Suddenly, A is now in raeg mode, starting to insult me, the server, and the other mods who only just noticed anything was happening. He tells me that B is upset and was just curious. I case-and-point him that A himself should have expected B to be curious, and should watch his brother instead of letting him wander off.
He continues his bitching and yelling, eventually threatening me. I tell him I dont give two fucks.
At that point, He starts harassing other players, breaking things and spamming chat. So, I teleport him into a special device one of the admins built, linking a temp spawn in said device that would constantly kill him before he gets the chance to do anything. After a few minutes, I get bored and Global ban his ass, going to the MCBans site and switching his brothers ban to Global as well.
Goodbye about 60% of Minecraft multiplayer.
Later I noticed our Servers Rep went down slightly. But we were still the best server on the planet so no one cared.
And thus ends the story of two of the about 2000 bans that that server already had. And why I cant be allowed power.
