Do you ever think about how helpless Seawatt was in a lot of pkc, how he was forced to flee his home layer just to work a shitty government job that fed back into the very thing he hated? Do you think about how him trying to destory pkc was how he tried taking back control of his narrative?Do you think about how he almost succeeded only for his plan to fail on account that he couldn’t control clown pierce? Do you ever think about how he had no choice but to race clown pierce knowing it was a losing fight?
I also really like the idea of a caged bird, knowing you could make it far but being held back by something out of your control.
I think the most interesting way Seawatt could come back into the narrative in a potential third parkour civilization movie is through the restoration of the fighter layer/ Seawatt’s old home.
A lot of Seawatt’s story is about losing control and trying to take it back so I think given the opportunity to take control in a healthy way and right the wrong that happened to his family + home layer could make for a really interesting story.
I’d imagine it would start off as an Emf/ Evbo adventure where they try to right the Old Man’s wrong but realize they’re in for a lot more than they bargained for. Since the layer was originally banished by a champion its going to take a champion to restore it to the regular order of layers. So Evbo coming into his godhood and Emf doing the same with his championship go through a training arc where maybe Emf has his title as champion threatened and Evbo struggles with being Not Human anymore.
This is where Seawatt comes in, right when they’re almost powerful enough Evbo slips away and contacts a dead Seawatt. Initially Seawatt wants nothing to do with Evbo or any of the living considering his mission is kinda over and his pride is still bruised but then Evbo tells him about the plan and how he deserves to know about it.
Maybe Seawatt lashes out at him for tampering with his home or puts doubt on Evbo that he could manage it. It’s initially a negative reaction but Evbo insists that it might give him closure.
He gets another opportunity, just a few moments to see how Evbo and Emf have tried to patch things up and return the layer to a more habitable place. It’s not to mock Seawatt or to upstage him but done to genuinely right a wrong, it’s made with progress in mind rather than stagnation.
This realization wouldn’t fix everything but it would mean a first step in reconciliation.
a little bit. i haven’t been able to keep up as much because im in a very different place than i was three years ago.
i don’t really think the roleplay appeals to me as much as it did with the first qsmp did? i really liked it when they were all united against the federation it felt pretty fitting for what the message of the project was. i haven’t been too tuned in but it seems like there’s a lot of different sides and everyone is spying on everyone. its not bad i don’t want to dictate where the ccs go with the story its just not my thing
So what other Parkcour World Building have you thought of?
So much information/ resources just doesn’t make it to the bottom layer right? It all has to trickle down.
Sort of how canopy forests work where the plants that grow tallest get the most sunlight while everyone else has to fight for what little they can. Plants that are closest to the bottom have to cope, some climb, others adapt, most only do so to live not thrive.
It’s probably a huge shock to be properly treated at the pro level, making it to the masters level would grow some sort of resentment for your previous life.
Even having the skills to be parkour champion it must come as a big culture shock to make it all the way up to the top and to find out your whole life you’ve been deprived of many different basic things. You’ve never seen the rain, you probably don’t have a great education, all the clothes you’ve ever worn were hand me downs- whatever sunlight that has trickled down through the metaphorical canopy. What is it like to feel unfiltered sun on your face? Would it scorch you?
What’s parkour civilization? I feel like I’ve never heard it before this week, but everyone’s making art of it rn. Did I miss something???
Parkour Civilization or pkc is something that gained a lot of traction on twitter sometime around the end of last week (maybe like october 2nd or 3rd i’d like to say) and it’s sort of spreading to here so here’s a really quick run down on pkc and some discussion on why its super popular all of a sudden. vv
Parkour Civilization is a series of minecraft roleplay videos by Youtuber @/Evbo that were originally released in 10-15 minute segments but later compiled as longer videos on his channel.
The series is about Evbo living in a world where everything he has to do is parkour related. If he wants a house he has to do parkour tricks, if he wants food he has to jump for it, if he wants to better his life and level up from a parkour noob to a parkour pro he has to do a parkour course. To add some risk it all happens over the void so there’s always some risk Evbo could fall and die at any time.
It’s not crazy special story wise and the series doesn’t treat itself seriously. It knows it’s a silly premise and I think that’s why a lot of people like it. I’m sick right now and I watched it because it was something fun to watch while I couldn’t do much else and by not being too serious it made me not expect certain things from it. If any of this sounds interesting id recommend giving it a watch.
I think it blew up like it did because of the intro of the first episode was a good hook for what pkc is. Evbo is given a choice between a hard parkour jump for some raw beef or an easy jump for raw chicken. Evbo goes on to say nobody jumps for the beef because it’s really not worth the risk and then watches his one remaining neighbor jump for it and fail, jumping into the void.
It right off the bat introduces you to the world and its mechanics and sets up a silly tone. It’s a format people can easily apply to a bunch of different memes/ their favorite media. It’s something you can easily reference and even if you don’t know the source material you can understand the concept.
pkc had viewers even before it blew up but a lot of the memes drew in new viewers which spawned in fanart which brings in even more viewers and that’s why it may seem like it came out of the blue.
I’m sort of hoping this is the new wave of minecraft content since we really haven’t had anything like this since 2020 and I think we’re overdue for a new era. A lot of people (including myself) thought this would come with the qsmp last year but I think it’s good that we’re getting some fresh faces in the mcyt ecosystem.
Here’s Evbo’s channel if you are interested, he’s currently working on a pvp civilization series which i haven’t really checked out yet but I hope to see more cool stuff out of him.
