The M'kuoo M'bemboo is a hippo-like creature found in Cameroon. The M'kuoo M'bemboo is described as a massive, black, herbivorous creature who’s head looks like a seal’s and is a big as a hippo; it also makes a sound that sounds like a gurgling roar. The M'kuoo M'bemboois said to live in underwater caves and it lunges out of the water to attack hippos which many use to explain as to why no hippos are found in the area. Some people believe that the M'kuoo M'bemboois a surviving Moeritherium which is an extinct species of tapir.

Water Elephants are semi-aquatic elephants found in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Water Elephants are described as small, tuskless elephants that spend most of their life in the water and only come up on land to graze. They were first seen by a French explorer known as Le Petit and the natives he talked to had stories to tell about it as well. In 2005, some people flying over Lake Tumba said they saw a herd of these creatures grazing as they were flying overhead. Experts believe that the Water Elephants could be surviving Moeritherium as they share similar features and characteristics.
