in ohio? thats abhorrent!!! around here it really depends on neighborhood tbh. I live in the urban sprawl that’s still in city limits so we pay those higher taxes, but enough out of the way that it’s thoroughly a family neighborhood and not a trendy area so rent stays okay. It goes up every year but what can ya do! So like there are DEFINITELY places in baltimore that are like $1000 studios. I honestly know more about the prices for buying property than renting in the city, because that’s where most of my research has directed me back when we thought we’d be able to actually purchase soon rather than in like...3 years
