if they had the energy to , they'd combat this . ever impassive and tired , sheol still found the rage inside of their chest in order to keep pushing forward . barely . existing only within suspended time in their mind , moving at a snails pace considering how quickly they came up with theories , hypotheses , experiments ; now they must muddle berries and foraged leaves for ink , temper feathers to make their own quills , bind the books ... needless to say , 'taking care of themself' was at the bottom of their priority list , meeting the criteria as minimally as possible . there was no one to take care of them , and they weren't looking for it , either .
but they don't have the energy , to combat it . they aren't completely dense , they realize they need more than the memories of the ghosts that haunt them . the memories of family members they buried , abandoned in the ground next to ancestral home , one they will never return to . they need more than just the bare amount of sustenance to carry their starving frame , they need more than they let on . not looking for it , but ever yearning for just one day where they don't need to take care of themself .
