'From the darkness, I hear metal banging against metal. Rhythmic and echoing. Clang. Clang. Clang. Clang. Clang. It sounds like clapping.' i'm biased i'm biased but BEST MOMENT IN THE WHOLE BOOK SO FAR IM SCREAMING
'“You don’t think they’re capable of change?” I ask Nine. “Adam changed.” “Yeah, but I always thought that was because he banged Number One or something.” I give him a tired look. “What?” he replies.' okay but is anyone else picking up the implication here about why they seem to think rex changed sides

i have... some thoughts about john's manpaining over sarah, but i'm gonna wait until i see how his arc turns out to go into it in detail. also, calling it now, one of those twins is doomed
god, adam's self-loathing over the things he thinks are Wrong with him because he's a mogadorian, him feeling like he will never ever be as good a person as any of the garde because they're intrinsically Better than him, and having those feelings reinforced to him every time he does something that would be an understandable human reaction to Fucked Up Shit, because the garde would never do that, he's just Tainted and Awful, hurts me so much and i'm so happy with this book for addressing it bless you six for the 'nah man same'
