it's actually canon but i need everyone on this blog to know that mohwee would look up at ori's tree when he was gone, hoping he would see them up there.
do you think he left letters? notes and signs for ori? do you think
Do you think that Ori replied to those letters?
Mohwee's carefully written "I love you"'s, replied to simply, in curling together letters that seemed to come so naturally to Ori- "Thanks." "Thank you" And many other variations, but all nothing more than thanking Mohwee for loving him.
Do you think Ori kept the notes and letters and signs, treasured them forever?
And do you think that he left his responses where Mohwee's skull lay.

Or, it's also under the cut!
There was static. So much static. It filled Ori’s ears and mind. It was so overwhelming, he wanted it to stop. It made it hard to think, to sleep- they hated it. The distraction was so bad that Ori didn’t notice Mohwee until the goggled man tapped on his shoulder, causing Ori to jump, although they smiled when they saw Mohwee.
“Hey..”
He said after a few moments, an exhausted smile adorning their face. The static was more bearable when Mohwee was around.. And part of Ori almost wanted to ask him to sleep with them, just for a night, just so he could get a decent amount of sleep for once.
“Dude, why weren’t you responding?”
Mohwee asked, deciding to skip straight to the point. He was sick of how exhausted Ori looked and how little anyone paid attention to it. It had become normal for the half-angel to look like he was on the edge of passing out all the time, and Mohwee hated it. Sure, Ori had become quiet on a good day, to obviously avoiding people on bad days, but it didn’t mean people should avoid him! If anything, Mohwee would have expected someone to check up on them more by now!
“..Uhm..”
Ori hesitated. Responding.. Had… Had Mohwee been calling for him? That was really sweet..
“Ori! Goddamnit, you need to.. I don’t know, go to fucking bed!”
Mohwee snapped, pulling Ori up. He bit his lip in annoyance when Ori stumbled, grabbing the half-angel with his other hand to steady them. Ugh, was he going to have to cuddle Ori to make him sleep or something?! Which was a completely normal thing to jump to!!! Probably. Actually, nothing anyone thought in this damn maze was normal besides wanting to get out.
Ori wasn’t sure if they wanted to answer or not. Maybe.. Maybe Mohwee would stay. Maybe Mohwee would abandon him for being weird or something. But.. There was a chance of finally, just maybe, getting a peaceful sleep.
“...I’ll sleep if you stay with me.”
They blurted out, eyes widening in shock. Mohwee blinked in surprise for a moment, before finding himself nodding. He wanted Ori to sleep, and even if this was a trick.. Mohwee wasn’t complaining, cuddling with Ori sounded nice.
Ori’s halo lit up brighter before Ori looked up, eyes sparkling with hope. He got up and helped Mohwee into their hammock, before getting into it himself, grabbing Mohwee to make sure he didn’t fall accidentally. Sure, you’d respawn in the clearing, but it still hurt like a bitch to crack your skull open on the ground.
Plus, holding Mohwee seemed to stop the static some. Ori was never letting him go again now that they’d learned that information. It was.. Oh.. wow. He was so tired… They knew that before, but… it somehow felt more real now that his mind quieted for once..
They sighed, quiet and soft, letting the crisp smell of the night and the warmth of Mohwee comfort him as they slowly slipped into sleep, breathing slowly and feeling calm for the first time in weeks- months? Could’ve been days, after all, the sky’s fake.
Mohwee held Ori tightly, running his hands through their hair, slowly working out the tangles in the angel's hair. It was so soft, and the light of Ori’s halo felt… somehow just comforting. It was odd, and really something Mohwee couldn’t put his finger on, but it was nice, and Mohwee kinda wondered if, since Ori could kinda toss their halo around, it would be possible for him to.. Would try on be the right wording? It was a part of Ori’s body, that would be kinda weird phrasing, but Mohwee couldn’t figure anything else out.
Mohwee’s breathing fell into rhythm with Ori’s, and despite how much he wanted to keep watch over them all night, he was getting tired, but… He had come up here with the intent of making sure Ori was okay, and falling asleep instead of keeping watch was absolutely not how to do that.
Mohwee… didn’t succeed. He fell asleep pretty late, but he still held onto Ori while asleep, their bodies tangled together. They’d surely get teased tomorrow, but neither sleeping man cared for the moment, they were deep in dreamless sleep, which was a rare treat in the clearing, where everyone was so often plagued by nightmares.
Mohwee woke up being pelted by small pebbles, and instead of yelling at Oeca like he normally would, threw the pebbles back at Oeca, glaring at the younger boy. He couldn’t move much without waking Ori up, and he wasn’t gonna do that, the man needed his sleep.
“GET DOWN HERE LOVERBOY.”
Oeca yelled, pulling out a knife, to which Mohwee gave him the middle finger for. Damn kid was gonna ruin a nice moment!! Most people would think it was cute, not that it was a reason to pull a knife! Though.. Oeca tended to think everything was a reason to pull a knife, who knew someone having a nice sleep would be a reason included in that though.
Mohwee covered Ori’s ears so that they hopefully wouldn’t wake up.
“LET ORI SLEEP, OECA!”
He yelled back, freezing as Ori shifted. He shouldn’t have yelled, he should’ve trusted his goddamn instincts.
Ori groaned, slowly opening his eyes.. What was happening? It seemed… later than he normally woke up, the sun high in the “sky”. However, they felt more rested than they had in… a while.
Was.. was someone covering his ears? Ori reached up and pried the hands off their ears carefully, meeting Mohwee’s eyes after a moment, and relaxing again. He’d probably been yelling at someone, and if the pebbles were anything to guess from, Ori would put his money on Oeca.
Mohwee sighed, climbing out of the hammock- much to Ori’s disappointment- and down the tree, grabbing the knife Oeca had in his hands.
“If you throw that knife at Ori I’m gonna punch the shit out of you.”
He threatened, putting the knife in his belt. Oeca was NOT getting it back.
Ori laughed quietly, even if he was a little disappointed that Mohwee left. Was this what it was like to have a husband and kid? There was probably less violence most of the time, but most families also weren’t in a death maze, so…
Ori came down as well a minute or two later, grabbing Mohwee by his scarf and pulling him away from Oeca, smirking as they heard Oeca laughing. Sometimes, this place wasn’t so bad. Moments like this made Ori feel like maybe they really could live their lives in the clearing.
