I hadn’t made jam in a while. Here’s my new chanson(g)*.

Disjointed improvised computer song. The noises aren’t actually electronic, I sampled sounds of myself and played them on the keyboard. I’d call this an unconscious song, meaning I didn’t really put much thought into it and the next day I wake up stunned to find a completed song on my computer.

A quick extra song - extra as in something that would probably end up on the second disc of an album. In contrast to me working on one of my ‘real’ songs which I never seem to record (although I’m recording one very soon for a school project). The singing is a little off at points - but its ok because its a demo. I guess its an experiment in simplistic guitar arrangements, or I’m just saying that to make myself sound like I actually thought this song out.

An ambient song featuring the soothing sounds of squeaking balloons and pitch shifted police sirens above the wave-like sonics of a slowed down accordion and rain patter. Then there is a distorted version of the entire track that seeps in half way through. I was originally going to have a repeating piano harmony with this, but it overcomplicated the sound, so I kept it as it is. NOTE: I think the volume is a little loud because I’m used to quarter volume mixing.

I think I’m going to try and record some quick rough song demos weekly. Then eventually when I feel like it I can finish them up. This was one I wrote today and felt maybe I should see how doable it is to record it and add the other respective instruments as soon as it came to me. Also I couldn’t actually be bothered with recording the bridge even though I wrote one - I guess I was tired (even though I only spent about an hour on this). The lyrics are a stream of consciousness and are hardly audible anyway.

I made it on GarageBand during a school study line a day prior and didn't have the chance to record lyrics till today - I wanted to try out GarageBands capability with a real type of song, so even if it wasn't the most inspired tune (or maybe it is?), I'm glad to have learned that GarageBand is completely terrible for music production, but great as a scratchpad... I will eventually get Logic Pro X on my laptop.

GarageBand iPad test 2. The thing is improvised, so please don't mind the gibberish and harshly-sung lyrics + it's kind of funny that you can kind of hear talking in the background, maybe my parents were in the room, I don't remember.
