We report as quietly as possible: our expert has just seen a doe, there, between the trees. They tapped us on the shoulder, we turned around, and in this half-second, it was gone. We think it will come back if we stay very still. Our expert generally has trouble staying still.

Probably been looking at this too long, not sure how well its working.

Trying to use the green/purple differently to the blackberry dragon, but its either too dark/too muddy/too something.

Keen on the purple wings, its just the rest looking funky.

"let me go, stack." you tried to pull your wrist away from his firm fist, but he was undeniably stronger than you and it just pissed you the fuck off. "baby, listen to me-" you cut him off, "fucking let me go!" you pulled away, harsher this time, your tone making him flinch.

a silence creeped up on the both of you, but it didn't last long. "you're fucking sick. absolutely sick, stack." you spat at him and his eyebrows furrowed before arching. "You don't understand. I made enough money for us to live comfortably! i- we- we have a club! me and smoke, we got all this money and-" you slapped him. hard. his cheek stung and his eyes widened, but he didn't react. he knew he deserved it.

"money, money, money-" you began, throat constricting while tears rushed to wet your eyes, "all you talk about is money! you were gone stack-" he stepped towards you and you back up, "I tried to write-" "seven years!" you shouted, and he stopped. "seven fucking years, and nothing! not a single letter, not a single update, not a single explanation!" a first tear ran down your cheek.

"i lived a life of fantasies for seven years—a hope that maybe you'd come back and explain yourself and apologize," you walked towards the kitchen counter, "but now that you're back, the only thing you have for me is money!?" you grabbed a plate and threw it at him—kind of, your tear-blurred vision making you miss him completely.

"honey, I'm sorry, but I did it to make it work! I'll give you a house, food, even a baby like you always wished for-" and you laughed. you laughed in despair, the smile on your face lasting about 4 seconds before your expression turned sour. "a baby? a fucking baby? you want to give me a kid? and then what? leave again for another seven years? make me take care of it all alone and tell that poor child fairytales about his father that couldn't even explain why he was gone?" you rambled, and he let you.

"you ignore your past and yet, everything you say is in the future tense. I'm tired of this, stack. tired of you!" and his heart broke. he immediately rushed towards you, grabbing you by your shoulders.

"fuck-" his eyes searched for yours, but you looked away. "I'll do anything, baby. please. you can't leave me. everything I did–" he grabbed your cheeks, leaning down towards you, and you could feel his breath on yours. "every crime I committed, every penny I stole–" "you stole money!? from who?" "it was all for you."

you were stunned.

"I was tired of you having to live a life like this when- when you could have so much more. you deserve more." finally, you looked up at him, his eyes sincere and so in love, but you didn't falter. you had convictions, and you respected yourself.

pushing him away, you quickly grabbed your coat as he watched you, defeated. "goodbye, elias."

and before he noticed them, he felt warm tears dripping down his cheeks.

you didn't even look back when you walked out, you simply opened the door and went.

you were gone.
