Negotin - Days of Mokranjac Choirs Festival

„The days of Mokranjac” – musical legacy of Negotin and Serbia to the greatest Serbian composer and conductor Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac.

Using luxurious instrument – the human voice, Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac not only the founder of choral music in Serbia, but also the most accurate musical chronicler of his time. His work was essential in bringing the spirit of Valach Serbian unwritten folk poems into organized art.

Modern musical moment ever arise Serbia and trace Mokranjca, a dowel by his followers. Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac, the privilege of Negotin, where it came from, where he gained his first musical education pojući in the church choir, where he went to the world that there be granted to musical greats.

Negotin made ​​his legacy: The Music Festival „The days of Mokranjac„. Every September, starting from 1966. year, the best choirs, performers and composers-all of which reflect the music scene of Serbia and the world gather in Negotin for the oldest Serbian music festival of its kind. This year the event will celebrate its 50th edition.

Negotin - Zilele Festivalului Coral Mokranjac

„Zilele Mokranjac” –  Festivalului Coral Mokranjac își sărbătorește anul acesta ediția cu nr.  50. Acest festival anual, strâns legat de istoria Serbiei și a Negotinului, este dedicat memoriei celui mai mare compozitor, culegător de folclor și dirijor sârb, Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac.

Utilizând cel mai amplu și luxos instrument muzical – vocea, Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac nu a fost numai fondatorul muzicii corale în Serbia, dar și unul dintre cei mai apreciați cronicari muzicali ai timpurilor sale. Mai mult, Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac a avut un aport esențial în aducerea poemelor folclorice nescrise ale spiritului valaho-sârb în arta muzicală.

Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac, este mândria Negotinului în care s-a născut la 9 ianuarie 1856, unde și-a dobândit prima educație muzicală cântând în corul bisericii și de unde a încântat lumea cu primele sale compoziții.

Orașul Negotin îi cinstește memoria anual prin festivalul muzical „Zilele Mokranjac„. In fiecare septembrie, începând din anul 1966, cele mai bune coruri, interpreți și compozitori atât din Serbia cât și de peste hotare, se aduna în Negotin la acest festival, toți reflectând muzica corala sârbă și moștenirea lăsată posterității de către Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac în cel mai vechi festival de acest gen din Serbia.

Me loves a bit of classical music as well and I have been brainwashing myself last few days while working with the finest serbian choral music [maybe even our best classical in general] that is out there...this one literally gives me goosebumps.
