In a world where Eirwen had never ended up meeting Timber's family...
The song “Open Up Your Eyes”, from My Little Pony: The Movie… kinda really works for such an AU....
WARNING:
This contains the following;
SPOILERS, for both the MLP movie (the link above mostly), and depicts Eirwen as an adult and in her mid-morph form.
TEASERS for some elements from MOLD proper.
CHILD ENDANGERMENT and allusion to CHILD ABUSECREEPY and UNCOMFORTABLE IMAGERY sprinkled throughout
INJURY and BLOOD
and DEATH
This thing ends on a very sad and somber note, so... be aware of that, too.
basically, Chrom’s dad “molded” Chrom into his war prince and he’s basically a jerk and violent. Since Chrom’s dad keeps him from his sisters, he becomes a different man. Stuff happens (it’s different depending on the interpretation) and Robin is brought in as Chrom’s concubine, and she changes him.
Chrom grits her teeth as she pores over the reports of the war. The Ylisseans have the upper hand, that much she gathers, but they always have the upper hand, and trying to understand the details of all the skirmishes and all the equipment requests and all the food needs is giving her a headache. She lets out a hard sigh, digging her fingers into her short hair.
Robin lays on the bench, her head in Chrom’s lap. She tenses a little at Chrom’s frustration, but Chrom doesn’t really understand. Still, the princess’s attention is drawn to the concubine, and for the moment Chrom forgets about her work.
She silently puts her hand on Robin’s cheek, moving her head so that Robin looks at her. Robin’s dark eyes seem dull, and Chrom doesn’t get why, and she doesn’t get why it makes her stomach churn almost like she’s sick. She tries to ignore the feeling and instead brushes her thumb back and forth over Robin’s cheek. Her skin is soft.
Chrom wonders why it’s so soft, and why her own skin is rougher. Aren’t they both women? Aren’t women supposed to have soft skin? Her sister Emmeryn seemed soft and elegant; the same with her father’s concubines. Why wasn’t she the same way, then?
She knew somewhere in her mind that the answer was because of her excessive training, her countless hours on the battlefield, but she didn’t really want to accept that.
Chrom leans down and kisses Robin’s lips. They’re so warm she never wants to stop.
