Found a mole skeleton the other day! The head must have pulled a Thing and wandered off after growing some legs though because it was nowhere to be found.

Mole skeletons are a collection of weirdness. This is cool - two of the lowest cervical vertebrae have extended spines on the underside. I assume it's a digging adaptation and possibly related to the very weird humerus and clavicle bones.

Mole Hill!

I’ve had this mole skull and forelegs in a drawer for YEARS now with this very display scene in mind for them, just never got around to making it. Finally put it all together the other day and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

The bones were cleaned by the dermestid beetle colony I used to have then I glued them all back together. Wooden base, plaster “dirt,” and some fake plants I painted to make look a little less fake-y. And a lil worm I made out of clay <3
