A scientific viewpoint is a reductionist one. A religious viewpoint is a holistic one. A scientist says to a priest, "Look at this beautiful natural system. Each part has a purpose. It must be the work of physical mechanics and evolution because it follows this set of rules. Your bearded man in the sky does not exist." This gives him knowledge of the parts and their function, but not of the whole. The priest replies "This is simply an inspirational example of God, the divine Creator. He alone with his boundless Love is the cause of order inside chaos. Your "science" is blasphemy and cannot be true." This gives him understanding of the whole, but not knowledge of the parts.
The philosopher - philos sophos, lover of wisdom, he can have both at the same time by looking at both the big picture and the details instead of arguing over semantics, wording, presentation and whether the paint is oil or acrylic.
History shows that Religion can be an inspiration for great Good or great Evil. Science has taught us that Religion is a human construct and that it does not have to hold us back. Reason has taught us that Race is a human construct. Reason is reminding us that Racism is injustice. Love has taught us that sexuality is a human construct. Love is teaching us that gender has no meaning. Fear has taught us that wealth is equal to health. Fear has taught us that money is equal to happiness. Socialism is teaching us that that capitalism is a human construct. Healthcare is teaching us that wealth is not equal to health. Logic is teaching us that Victimless Crimes are unjust. Logic is teaching us that the difference between medicine and drugs, sane and mentally ill, innocent and guilty: the wealthy and indebted is defined by how much money you have. If you have an conscious at all, you should hear Jiminy Cricket whispering in your ear, "Wake up my dear! Don't you see its just a dream?". Stop lying to yourself. Don't let your nose grow any longer. Anything is possible. Start tomorrow. Start now. Lay the first brick. Walk out the front door. Think outside the box. Your dreams can be memes today. Culture is a human construct. If you can imagine it you really can "Just do it". Do what makes you happy.
Nietzsche was on the right track. Nihilism doesn't have to win. Entropy Doesn't have to win. Zoroaster was wrong. You don't have to suffer. Science is making too bold of claims. The universe doesn't have to end in heat death. We wont find out unless we get there. I already know I will be there and I know I will meet each of you in eternity.
all of us are vibrating on the same wave. nonbelievers cause discord. u dont have to be sad if u just have hope and believe. thoughts are future memories you have not yet made. they come from the future you in other possible timelines through the infinity of space and time to reach you in the present. you can make them real with choice. choose love. think happier. free will is not a construct. it is the only truth. there is no zero. there is only one. we are all one. base your decisions on this and you will choose with love.
