Somehow angst cameout, because as ✨Queen of Angst✨ I truly couldn't resist. Sorry. :(
On this specific day, Molinde is sad. Very rarely it happens, but she has just come back from the Grey Havens and she is just sad.
It feels like part of her left together with Molisse, the one person that she could truly consider a friend - and yet she can't blame her for that. Celebrimbor's death did leave in her a deep scar.
In both of them, truly, but Molinde stays whilst Molisse left for the white lands of Aman.
Two ways of coping that are so different and yet. They both understand each other's choice. Just like they are not crafters in the same things, but they do understand the passion behind them.
Molinde and Molisse first met so much time before, when they both were apprentices of their own craft - Molisse coming to Molinde's teacher for mendings. Something clicked and the two had started enjoying quite a lot each other's company.
They would regularly exchange clothes and jewels.
Molinde sort of remembers being vaguely jealous at the news that her friend was going to marry one of the sons of Feanor, howeer she had been genuinely happy for her.
"Worry not, one day you will find your Prince too!" Molisse mused gently, cheering her up.
"I am kind of losing hope, Molisse. But I will try to see the bright side." She had replied with a sigh.
But in hindsight and with everything that happened Molinde knows that Molisse had been right in calling her lucky.
And Molinde did feel lucky, in a way, she got to help her friend in raising her son - she remembers fondly Celebrimbor when he was just tiny little Tyelpe.
"I feel like... Somehow I was not cut to be a mother, Molinde." Molisse confided her one time.
"Being a parent is not easy. I am sure your little one will come around!" Molinde replied cheerfully.
"Will... Will you be around him, should anything... Well, should anything happen to me and my husband?"
"Of course... What are you trying to tell me?"
And Molisse did not answer. That would be the last time she would see her, before she got re-embodied. The Oath claimed yet again more blood and Molinde took her last words as seriously as she could.
Alas, the day Sauron came disguised as Annatar and managed to go through his foul plans, what a cursed day!
She lets out a distressed sigh. Molisse got re-embodied and Molinde had to be the one telling her about Celebrimbor.
To this day she has the nagging feeling that even though her friend did not blame her at all, she really should have. She will saysorry properly when she sails to the Undying Lands too.
In the meantime, however, she has to wait. The goodbyes have been bittersweet, full of tears and hugs and Molinde has made sure she has everything Moliisse needs for her journey.
She is going to miss her friend sorely.
Maybe it is time for her to go too.
