Nothing in particular really prompted the sudden outburst of a laugh, but Livvie stops what they're doing to wipe a stray tear with their wrist. "Hey, hey---" it's an attempt of a whisper, even going as far as trying to cup her hands around her mouth so that only Paulie would hear, in hopes it got his attention. And when it did, she'd continue on. "Remember that time when Lucci's suspenders broke...?"

Paulie stopped what he was doing as soon as he heard Livvie laugh, tearing his gaze away from the blueprint in front of him to look at his fellow worker. He knew nothing good ever came of that noise and mentally prepared himself for what was coming.

Was he usually laughing or causing trouble along with them ? Yes but that was beside the point.

Livvie had barely finished speaking before the incident came to mind. Paulie was very glad he had not been handling anything important because it would be ruined. He laughed, loud and possibly a little unhinged, at the memory. Any other time he might have been a little more concerned at what everyone else was thinking of this interaction but the image was just too funny.

"The sound!" was all he managed to say before he started laughing again.

"I mean, you want the treasure, don't you?" The pirate captain laughed, smiling at his old friend. He held the projector in his mechanical hand and used his other to zoom in and move the map so they could see what planet the ‘chest’ was on. The treasure was less of a chest and more of a pile of credits that were just gathering dust after a few decades.

It was their duty as pirates to make sure they didn’t sit there too much longer.

“We skipped a few steps but I know the men want a break. This planet is also known for its beaches, after all.”

Paulie watched the storm as it raged outside the viewport, rocking the ship a little more with every passing minute. Aqua Laguna continued to grow fiercer with every year but the relief sent by the Senate was a great help to the population of the moon they called home.

However, it would be lovely if they didn't demand so much in return.

"Can you delay the meeting?" he asked, tensing when another wave crashed onto the platform. "Don't think anyone is comfortable with you taking off in this kind of weather..."

Meeting the Jedi had been by chance. Zoro had heard stories of them as knights, as great warriors. He hadn't seen the girl in front of him fight much but what he had seen so far was impressive. Was it lucky or unfortunate? He wasn't sure yet. But he was ready to find out.

Maybe this hunt wouldn't be a complete bust.

"Anyways I think we have the upper hand. A Mandalorian and a Jedi?" Zoro smirked at Sai, sharp as a knife, before slipping his helmet back on. He took a sword in each hand before going to stand in front of her. "They'll never see it coming."

Beckman had only been away from his crew for a few days, his errands had taken him inland, but he had missed it. Missed the sea. Missed the crew. Missed home. There was nothing quite like a party on the open seas with the people he cared for most in this world around him.

Of course, he wouldn't tell them that. They all have big enough heads as it is.

"If you're so glad to see me, you should order me a double," Beckman joked, bumping his shoulder against Yasopp's. "You wouldn't believe what I overheard in town."

Yeah, he was glad to be back.

Paulie seemed to perk up the moment he heard his boss speak, sitting up taller and trying to look like a model employee despite the bruises on his face. Then he processed what the older man had said. How was getting into a fight with a debt collector his fault? He didn’t send the guys after himself. He was just defending himself!

“Wasn’t my fault,” he grumbled. And, no, he wasn’t pouting.
