Anyone catch the Angel Watching over Sherlock?
I was rewatching The Abominable Bride the other day and, of course, knowing after the fact that it’s in his mind palace makes you see things in a bit different light. I saw a quote by Mark, I think, somewhere at sometime about how they were always putting little things in that no one caught.
In the graveyard scene, the camera pans upwards and back and rests for a moment on this odd view. There is an angel watching over Sherlock. Even more interesting is his next comment;
“But...that’s exactly what they must’ve done! (substitute a body for Mrs. Ricoletti) The conspirators had someone on the inside, They found a body, just like Molly Hooper found a body for me when... but... we don’t need to go into all that again, do we.”
So, at the moment an angel is seen watching over him, he is thinking about Molly Hooper and how she saved his life. Not to mention, in TRF when Moriarty mentions that Sherlock is “on the side of the angels”, unknowingly referring to Molly, since she is the one who is helping him.
This is all a little freaky when you think about the setlock scene with Molly on the beach with Moriarty in Ep 3, Season 4. Has someone (Moriarty? I still think he’s dead) discovered how instrumental Molly has been and how important she is to Sherlock and go after her? I think it’s a distinct possibility, especially if someone close to Sherlock is working for the other side. Will he discover how much he loves her, only to lose her? Will she truly become the angel watching over him? Or maybe, Sherlock just sees her as his guardian angel. I gotta say, I’m just a little worried, especially after Loo talks about some beautiful scene between Molly and Sherlock at the end of that ep...
