TICK TOCK DINER

Tick Tock Diner can’t compete with Tiana’s or Landlocked when it comes to cuisine. The food is standard diner fare, but it’s cheap, open twenty-four hours, and has the best pie in Fableton. It’s a quiet place, once one gets used to the ticking of all the clocks that cover the walls, and students can sit and study for hours without being bothered.  Tick Tock Diner is open seven days a week in Wonderland.

MOLLY MCKELLAN

She’s studying nursing at Fableton U., and while the going is slow (it’s been a long time since she was a student), it’s worth it to Molly. She’s done more than her fair share of killing; now she wants to help people.

She hates cats, unless they’re of the Cheshire variety. They were too real a threat to her when she was trapped as a dormouse.

She spent half her time snoozing in an empty teapot while she was a mouse to keep herself from going as mad as her companions, and it stuck. Had a rough day? Go home and take a nap. Everything looks better on the other side of it.

BIOGRAPHY

If Hatter’s family was made to protect the magic of Wonderland, Molly’s was made to defend its royalty. She was raised on stories of the King’s army, and she joined when she came of age as everyone in her family had done before her. That was where she met Jackson Stayne; they both excelled in their training, and by the time they were promoted to the Suit of Hearts, she had never been more in love.

Trouble came to Wonderland when the Red Queen took over, and for the first time, Molly began to doubt her purpose. She’d dreamed of protecting Wonderland all her life, but this threat seemed to come from the inside. As more of the army fled in fear, the Queen solidified her position by promoting people she knew were loyal to her–including Jack. No matter what she did, Molly couldn’t convince him of her suspicions about the real threat to Wonderland. When she left, she left alone.

She took shelter in the forest with the rest of the refugees. There weren’t many; the Hatters were being hunted down one by one, and those willing to oppose the Queen were even fewer. However, she joined the meager resistance and fought to defend the only free corner of Wonderland left. She killed the Bandersnatch by stabbing it through the eye, but was captured in the process. Rather than kill her, the Queen decided it would be a more fitting punishment to let her live– as a dormouse. Jack, now the commander of the Queen’s army, stood by and watched as she was transformed into a harmless ball of fluff and exiled to the forest to have tea parties with the Mad Hatter and the March Hare.

CONNECTIONS

Gretel Kipling: The two struck up a friendship early on in Fableton. Molly greatly admires her healing ability, and Gretel occasionally helps her with her studies.
