Okay guys, I am epically behind on posting my Post Office Bounty, but I am WORKING ON IT. Here’s how behind I am, the lovely blue card in the upper left and the gorgeous red bird card next to it are a happy Gregorian AND a happy Chinese new year card both from @levynite. 

The “Office of the Governor” postcard is from a Montana Lurker, which sounds like a cryptid, and I love the stickers, thank you!

@molly-ren sent me the awesome skeleton-reindeer card, with wishes that my new year is as metal as the card, and I HOPE SO. So glad you enjoy the Togethertube streams! 

Kat (tornthorn on AO3!) sent me the “style, sophistication, and class” card, which has FOUR OTHER SMALLER CARDS inside it. Thank you for the cardception and also for the lovely personal letter. I’m glad you’re enjoying RDJ Advises! 

The picture doesn’t convey just how awesome the card to the left of that is, with a wonderful image of Sargent’s rendition of Astarte from the Boston Public Library. @fatfemme-inist sent it to me (thank you, I love Sargent!) and I’m so glad my enthusiasm for Boston led you to have a great time! 

The patterned card with the “month of letters” ticket on top of it is from @dignitywhatdignity, who was doing it in February, and I am such a loser for having to post stuff FROM FEBRUARY. I’m glad the baby gate broke your fall and that James Justice Patriot Billionaire is doing well. (I think I owe you an ask response about little James too :D) 

In the bottom row, the wonderful pirate silhouette is made even better by the caption “One more joke ‘bout seamen and I will turn this boat around!” and I very much appreciate that as a Valentine’s Day sentiment, @froofie! Also Ghost I’m sure is pleased you included her in the address. 

The gentlemen playing darts got a little bit creased, but it made it through okay Dine (not sure if that’s your tumblr handle too?)​, and thank you! As for a wishlist if you win the lottery, well, top of mine would be a big wheel of really nice cheese. Just because. And also because the California Lottery used to have an ad that made a weirdly permanent impression on me:

I saw a recipe on Tastemade for "glass potato chips" and my immediate thought was that you needed to know about it. :D

Oh man these look amazing (beware autoplay video). I think I’m gonna have to try them, though admittedly I’ve been off potatoes in the last few months. I don’t know if it’s a tastebud change or what but lately they just taste strange, even my beloved french fries. Still, onto Cookerbadge they go!

I had no idea DiCaprio had a foundation!

Yeah! It’s almost twenty years old I believe. I don’t have a ton of direct experience with it but by all accounts it’s pretty well-respected, lots of environmental stuff and Indigenous rights support. As far as I know the foundation does no direct work, but like most family foundations it’s a granting organization, funding nonprofits who do the actual direct service. 

(On a fannish note, this is also how the Maria Stark Foundation would function, fwiw -- it would be endowed by the Stark family, so the bulk of cash would be from the Starks, and then would conduct fundraising operations, and would channel budgeted grant amounts yearly towards nonprofits, based on guidelines set by or decisions made by the trustees. At this point probably Tony, Pepper, and Rhodey are trustees, possibly sole trustees, unless Tony wanted to invite some of his cooler Billionaire Colleagues along.) 

(On a philanthropic note, while these foundations are good barometers of where to direct funds for specific causes, they are not always funding overall global change in effective ways -- for example if you want to wipe out Malaria, Bill and Melinda Gates are on it, but if you want to improve overall global health for all, the Gates Foundation is not particularly good at that. To each their own.)

How will books about graveyards get you put on a watchlist if everyone there is already dead? :P

Oh, the graveyard/ghost books aren’t the ones that’ll get me on watchlists, they’re just on the same shelf as all my art crime/war looting/fraud books, of which I keep a small but well-curated collection :D

Re: terrible murder mystery titles: I got one to read this weekend called "Spider Bones". Every time I look at it I yell internally, "SPIDERS DON'T HAVE BONES!"

OOOOOH. I mean they have exoskeletons, I suppose that kind of counts. You need to report back on what the title meant by spider bones and how it played into the story!
